stoneman - glad that Tracy is feeling better and glad your insurance agreed to sort out the bill without any hassle!

We noticed a lot of slots gone at PH but we did still find plenty to play...but I'm sure if you're used to playing VP and all the lower denomination machines are gone, it would be quite annoying. We really like their slot selection - it's one of the reasons we're thinking of staying there next trip. There's a penguin machine that really likes me - the one on the far right facing PF Chang's with a Zeus II behind it. I am sad when someone else is playing it. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

i'm aware it's all down to timing (how busy the hotel is etc), but has anyone had success with late (free?) checkouts @ Encore?

    Oh Luci you temptress you!

Just called the Carriage house and booked 7 nights. It was actually a bit cheaper than booking on line and came out just short of $420 all in for 7 nights for the 4 of us :D

That's us sorted - flights, car and somewhere to sleep - can't wait.

Just need that ruddy volcano to calm down, come to that I'm off to Dallas next Monday, so hope that's Ok too!

Thanks so much for the advice, I wouldn't have even known about that place without you.:A

Is that for a deluxe room rather than a one bedroom suite? When do you go?

I hope you like it. It wouldn't suit everyone as you don't get the "staying in a casino" experience, but I thought it might suit when you said you were travelling with kids and weren't bothered about having a casino.

I would normally suggest first timers stay at a hotel on the strip.

We like the space that the one bedroom gives us, and there's only 2 of us. OH still says it was his favourite hotel this trip as he felt so comfortable there.

Ive been looking at this thread for a couple of weeks and thought its time to post my query? I have actually been to LV twice before staying in the Mandalay Bay and The Hard Rock? Im actually looking at returning for my stag weekend next year (dont roll your eyes, my lot know how to behave).

What i have noticed is that prices seem to have shot up in the last 18 months? Is it still easiest to look on Expedia or is it now cheaper to book seperatly? Anybody point me in the right direction for discounted hotels on the Strip, Its either one of the major strip hotels or the HRH for me? Had an awesome time at the REHAB pool party when i last stayed there?

One last question, is there are yime of the year when it is distinctly cheaper? I have had a look on this thread but cant seem to find any info? any help would be appreciated

Sorry, I was a bit vague there, i have browsed the various pages, but just wanted an update on which websites to use and which are currently cheapest? Which website is best for booking flights alone?
