Hey guy's. Me and my ladyfriend are planning on getting hitched in Vegas next month :j everything is booked execpt a meal for the evening meal.
We're aware the popular places need booking in advance so i'd thought of doing it soon as we hopefully fly at the start of June.
I've read up on the usual places (Stratosphere, Paris top of the tower) but heard the food isn't really all that - you're just paying for the view really.
Also heard mixed thing's on Bellagio's Prime Steakhouse been very expensive for what it is..
I'd be happy going to the Cheesecake Factory :rotfl: but could anyone give us some idea's?

If I were you and it was my wedding night, just the 2 of you, I would book Prime, but that's just me. It's one of the most memorable romantic meals me and hubby have ever had. We moved onto their patio to have desserts while the fountains played. It was beautiful. It IS pricey, but you're only getting married once. The patio at MAG and Olives are nice, don't get me wrong, but they're not the "special" that I think you'd be looking for on your wedding night. Prime felt private, the tables weren't close together, the food was excellent and the service not overly attentive.

If price really has to be a deciding factor, the choices mentioned are all good places to eat, and I'm sure you'll love where you go, as you'll be on such a high after just getting married.

Oh, I also like TOTP at Stratosphere. The food is good, not super out of this world, but the view is stunning, it is very romantic and it's a restaurant that revolves 360 degrees while you eat. That's quite extraordinary in my book and makes a nice add on when you tell people where you've having your first meal after the wedding...........

Alize was meant to be done on my trip last month, but we didn't manage it, so it's still on my "to do" list..... lol

    :)
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

Went to Alize last night and it was superb! The service was top notch and the food was excellent.

We got a table by the windows with wonderful views of Vegas.

Will write a bit more later when I have more time.

We've booked Encore at Wynn.. The cheapest I could find was £340 for 5 nights with Atlaschoice which is £68/ approx $102 per night incl taxes

Thank you all for being so helpful!

I very much doubt you will beat that price, especially with taxes included. I'm sure you will love it.

    A couple more points:

    - if you like flowers, there is a very colourful free display in the conservatory in the Bellaggio

    - we stayed at the Mirage for our last night and got free tickets to Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden there (they sell at $15). Every single one of the tigers was sound asleep when we went in (4pm must be siesta time!) but there is also a dolphin pool and the dolphins were very lively. It's not a show as such but the trainers feed and 'train' them, so it is pretty entertaining. You can get up quite close to them too. I'm glad we went, but you could see it all in well under an hour.

    - volcano erupting in front of the Mirage also an incredible sight

    - Cravings Buffet at the Mirage was the only one we went to (dinner and breakfast) and we thought the dinner was good ($25) with food stations with different styles of food - Latin, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Carvery, Fish, etc.

    - Tried to get in the buffet at Paris one lunchtime but the queue was really long (maybe because of the $29.99 eat for 24 hours deal) and I don't do standing in line.

    - If you are younger than me, you may be interested to know that Steel Panther play at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay every Saturday night. (quite reasonable $16 to get in).

    - If dropping off a rental car at the airport, leave a bit of time as we had to wait quite a while for the shuttle bus (drop-off seems a long way from terminal).

Re money: we also used Crown Currency with no problems and a good rate. Wish I'd ordered more.
Credit card statement has just come in  and we were getting about $1.47 dollars to the pound on c/c transactions.

Tried using my debit card once (as I wanted to know if my son - no credit card - could use his when he goes later in the year). They added on a
£1-50 charge, so not a very good deal unless you're making a big purchase.

Thanks Chanty. My OH just leaves me to it now... everything from flights to hotels to car hire. He just has the privilege of handing over the credit card =)

I'm wondering whether to hold out a little for my currency.. My OH couldn't wait in the end and got $1.52 for his to be delivered next week. Although I don't think it'll change much over the next few months. Crown are currently offering $1.53

Ah - just what I've spent the day researching (and yes, I do mean the whole day!) and finally decided to see what happens post election! God I'm good at wasting time - good thing I work from home! :rotfl:

I just spent the whole day researching what hotel to stay at when I'm in Los Angeles. Found a radisson in the area we want to stay in and found they do a price match guarantee + 25% off if found advertised cheaper elsewhere. Expedia are which means I save £70!

My OH says I'm no longer moneysaving.. Just tight! :rotfl: Well I am a poor uni student earning a measley placement wage. I'm happy with that!
