AprilSo, my question is, has anyone ever tried booking Vegas hotels through hotwire? I've done it before on LA hotels but the area I was looking at then was quite small. I'm afraid that with the sheer number of hotels available we might end up with a hotel that's not quite on the strip.
Thank you
Edit: Forgot to add, we're on a tight budget so I only really want to spend between £50-70 per night for the dates 25th-30th July
Vegas is probably the one city in the world that I would not use Hotwire or Priceline for…even with proper research as to what I might end up with. There are too many good deals out there – and too many good deals booking direct with the hotels (which are more flexible – which OK, for the OCD among us isn’t the best thing since it gives us the option to keep checking until a few days before we go)…but like many here, I think that the hotel search can be part of the fun. Your dates do not include a weekend, so I would have thought you could get any number of good deals within your budget.
Maybe let us know what your main priorities are in a hotel and we can help you narrow it down.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
JulyThanks Chanty I did look at the Wynn before and it does look nice.. I was a little worried about the noise issues though!
I don't really have that many priorities when it comes to picking the hotel. I would just like it to be clean, on the strip (within walking distance to shops/places to eat) and with a pool
Apart from that everything else is a bonus0 -

What noise issues?0 -
JulyI've read some reviews on tripadvisor about it being quite noisy at night due to the club/bar
I doubt it will be much of an issue for me as I'll sleep through anything but my partner is different. To be honest, it does look like an amazing hotel. I think my decision is made! Wynn it is! thank you all for your help!
P.S Has anyone ever used the $20 trick there? Is it even worth trying seeing as the rooms looks really nice and are big anyway?0 -

You could ask for the 50th floor and assuming the club is at the bottom you will not hear it.
In all seriousness hotels in Vegas are enormous, MGM has over 5000 rooms you can def get a room where you cant hear any nightclubs.
I wish I could have stayed at the Wynn when I was 21..BUT once you have stayed there you wont want to stay anywhere else
Ps
I would think those noise issues relate to noise while gambling or eating.
I would forget tripadvisor and ask away on here as between us we have prob stayed in every hotel on the strip0 -
JulyThank you for all your help
I think my mind is now made up without all the endless antagonising over which hotel to pick!
Excited now!0 -
JulyRealised - you will NOT be disappointed with the Wynn hotel. Its amazing. I have been lucky enough to stay there twice and love it so much that me and my OH are going to get wed there in less than two months. As others have said, the ONLY drawback is that once you have stayed there you will not want to stay anywhere else!!! lol.
We are trying the Encore for this trip - will report back on here when back.

Just having a quick look at hot deals rates (since they're all in one place it's easy to check)- Imperial Palace is $162 for a deluxe room, Flamingo hot deals rates for your dates are $252 for a deluxe room...both would be in the lower end of your price range. Flamingo has a good pool and (I think) might suit a 21-year old slightly better. Both are well located, etc. Planet Hollywood is within your price range but on the higher side of it - about $450...I think PH would appeal to a younger crowd generally, but I think I've read the pool isn't great.
In any event, I am sure you will have fun looking.
Also, Wynn has one of the highest overall ratings of any hotel in Vegas - you'll always have people who have an issue with something or another. We stayed there once and didn't hear a peep (we were on the 58th floor though)

It's just a shame they've stopped selling cancelled contracts for now0 -
Hey guy's. Me and my ladyfriend are planning on getting hitched in Vegas next month :j everything is booked execpt a meal for the evening meal.
We're aware the popular places need booking in advance so i'd thought of doing it soon as we hopefully fly at the start of June.
I've read up on the usual places (Stratosphere, Paris top of the tower) but heard the food isn't really all that - you're just paying for the view really.
Also heard mixed thing's on Bellagio's Prime Steakhouse been very expensive for what it is..
I'd be happy going to the Cheesecake Factory :rotfl: but could anyone give us some idea's?0
