Las Vegas thread and MSE guide 2010

AprilGot back mid-week from our first ever trip to Vegas and still trying to readjust to the time difference! (Wide awake between 1am and 4am but deep asleep around 8 when I should be getting up - warning to anyone who has not done it before: try to leave yourself a bit of time to settle back before going back to work!!)
We flew from Edinburgh to Heathrow and then to San Francisco with US Airways. The plane was fine in economy with individual screens in the back of the seats for the videos. Food was not great. We had a week in San Francisco and then drove down the coast as far as Cambria and then across via Death Valley to Las Vegas, so any initial jetlag had worn off by the time we got to Vegas.
We picked up the car on our last day in San Francisco (basic model booked via Carhire 3000 thanks to recommendations on here, with 'no one-way fee' written in on the contract. Came in at just under £20 a day and was plenty big enough (we are used to a small car at home anyway). Didn't want a gas guzzler even though petrol in US is soooooo much cheaper than here.
After the coast and desert driving, hitting Las Vegas was quite a shock and we got lost trying to find our way to our accommodation (GrandView- a timeshare condo). Everything seemed so busy and hectic that we started to wonder whether we had made a mistake. (Never fear, it did get better - will post more shortly.)
Big thanks to every one on here for all their advice and info over the past few months. Really helped to plan and look forward to the holiday.0 -

Have used cityandshow several times with no problems, not sure about resort fees as I usually stay at Wynn/Encore which dont have resort fees. You could always call/email them0 -
MayJust been to City Center and it was a hike from the strip to the Aria. It's true what everyone says, the casino is really dark.
The casino was mobbed and we have notice Vegas to be a lot busier than of late. The Encore and Wynn were a lot quieter than it is centre strip.
74F today, but temperatures are gradually rising this week and should reach 90F by Saturday.0 -
October , NovemberI think there is a $12.95/day resort fee for Monte Carlo
Ooh my bad - I had a funny feeling there was, but unlike the Mirage the MC had nothing obvious in their terms & conditions when I clicked through to check the offer for our dates. I've amended my original post.0 -

I'm slightly excited now.0 -
