yowza - that is a long day! Well, at least you have a good long stay in Vegas to get over the journey. :) Have a great trip!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Hello everyone!
Just spent an hour or so catching up on everyones news on here!

I started a new job where I cant access this site (booooo) and I have been so busy that I havent been on here on an evening as often as I would have liked - so have been missing you all!!

luci - hope you having an amazing time over there - enjoy!! Also - your itinerary is a fantastic idea and I always do one for our trips too - my mates laugh at me BUT I dont care :)
ratkarth - congratuations to you and your oh!
mooky - great to hear that you are back safe and sound - how's the claiming going?
pebbles - you lucky thing!!!! Great that you are now getting excited! I am just the same - a few days before going it all seems like so much of an effort to get everything sorted BUT once the excitement kicks in its fantasitc isnt it??!!!

Everyone else - thanks to you all for keeping posting on here - very disappointed that the buffet of buffets price has increased and, in practice, isnt that great. I think I may scratch that off my list then!

Its not long till me and my OH go on our own weddingmoon!!
Two months today we will be married by now and enjoying our reception at Magiannos!

I booked one of the "taste of wynn" menus at Daniel Boulud as a treat meal for the night before the wedding yesterday. I had to call them to do so but used a 0.5p number. $49 each for three courses - excellent price. Last time for table booking is 6.30pm - all booked! :)

Our Crown Currency is due to be delivered tommorrow - yippee! Seems AGES ago since we paid for it @ $1.65 to the £ - not bad. Its our first time of using them and we were very nervous - roll on tommorrow!
Also, we booked the Encore for 5 nights 30/6 - 4/7 via Atlas choice for £425. I checked the price last night and it is now a whopping £820!!! We got a bargain!

Great to be back on here and catch up - hope you are all well!

How exciting Steff (am v excited for you!)

Where'd you book the Daniel Boulud menu tasting - through the Wynn website?
(can't read - you rang!). Must look into that a little more - $49 sounds good value to me!

Have just checked in for tomorrow's flights. Not long now. We've still got a little bit of packing to do, but most things are ready and all the paperwork is done.

    I'm slightly excited now.

    Hi Pebbles!

Hope you have a great time!!! Bet you won't sleep much tonight!

Calling resident experts (you know who you are wink2.gif )

Me and the other half will be finishing our 3 week road trip (San Francisco, Sonoma, PCH Hwy 1, Los Angeles, San Diego, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Las Vegas) with 3 nights in Vegas (16/6-19/6), and I'm looking for a hotel!

I'm pretty sure that whatever I choose the standard will be good to begin with (anything similar or better quality to a decent UK Premier Inn will be just fine). We won't be doing any big money gambling (maybe a quick very-low-stakes slots, blackjack or roulette) so the casino element isn't a concern either.

Since we won't spend much time in our room I'm more concerned with location, proximity to transport and other 'must-sees' so we don't spend the whole 3 days on the bus; and also price, as I don't see the point spending huge amounts on a bedroom we'll barely be in!

I can see MGM Grand have a deal on at the moment which would give us the 3 nights at $267, and Monte Carlo for $226 (both excl. tax) and if I'm honest I don't really want to spend more than that, less if possible!

Would anyone like to throw their thoughts into the ring? help.gif

Yeah, go back to page 1 and start reading, that is the theme of the whole thread last time I looked
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

would pick mgm above montecarlo, have you thought about imperial palace or balleys both mid strip and seem to get decent ish reviews on here if your not expecting too much for your room, as a guide i found mgm grand a lot better than travelodge, nearer most 4* ive stayed in in the uk
    have fun

I think Imperial Palace would serve your purposes as ratkarth suggests. A quick check of their Hot Deals rates for your nights gives a grand total of $137.76 including taxes for a deluxe room (not even the cheapest, but I'd avoid the Capri rooms from what I've read). I haven't stayed at IP but plenty here have and have been perfectly happy. It's a fabulous location - better than MGM or MC.

Edited to add - just had another look and noticed that IP has a Buffet of Buffets offer on that covers your dates.

So for $156.55 total including tax (instead of $137.76) you could get the same IP deluxe room and 2 24-hour buffet passes good at any of the Harrah's group buffets...so that's $10 more per person...since the buffet passes are now a minimum of $35/pp - it seems like a really good deal even if you only used the buffet pass once for one of the higher end dinner buffets.
