    167 days for us. :(

Still, I can live vicariously through those of you that are going in the meantime.

    Hi everyone,

Just about to book my flights and thought would check bagage allowance. Thinking of booking with US Airways for what i can see their bagage is not free but $15 and then $25 for a 2nd. Is this normal?

I flew US Airways 2 wks ago from LA to Vegas and only had one bag to check in and that was $25...think its $23 if booked online, not sure of price of 2nd bag

Hi folks, just checking in from about 25000 ft. Trying out the new gogoinflight Wifi on US Airways. It's a free trial at the moment, will be $9.95 on internal US flights when it rolls out fully in a few weeks time (on all A321 aircraft).

Well, so far so good. Flight from MAN-PHL was pretty much on time. Glad we checked in online, saved loads of time queueing at MAN. Flight was really good, nice A330 plane with 2-4-2 config so managed to get a 'pair' of seats (which were very comfy too).

Immigration in PHL took ages, had about 30 desks open but there were loads of people arriving. Got our bags and the transfer bit was dead simple (we'd always flown direct before). Had a few hours in PHL, so managed to get some much needed food & drink.

Now on our way to San Diego before driving to Vegas in a few days time. Will be meeting up with Luci & Pebblesmax, should be good as never met before. May try and do an update once in Vegas but probably wait and do a full TR when we get home. Right, off to sleep now.......

How exciting to be able to post on a flight! Will it still be free next week? I do hope so.

Looking forward to meeting you next week. Enjoy San Diego.

unfortunately it has become the norm - i'm sure it's still free with some carriers but for the majority it will cost money unless you want to upgrade your seat to premium / business / 1st class ;)

even Virgin and BA charge for baggage now :( (BA have an added charge if you want to pick your seats prior to 24 hrs before check-in!)
When did that change? I booked with Virgin a few months back for august and 1 bag up to 23kg was free (in economy) and an extra bag chargeable

I was wondering what your process for booking Vegas is (wow, that makes me sound like a holiday bore!)

7 of us have just decided to go next April for my 30th birthday- it'll be my fifth time, my husband's third and the rest are virgins! There's 11 months to go, so there's not much point even thinking about booking now, but do you all start looking around now? I think we'll do NYNY but could be tempted elsewhere.

Is it best to look for flights in the Jan sales, or should I keep my eye on those throughout the year too?

We're flying with US Airways in June, and as far as im aware, any journey starting or ending in Europe allows 1 free checked bag per person.

They charge for 2nd bags now...I didn't realise they charged for first bags? I'm pretty sure with Virgin the first bag is still free...not sure on BA as I never check BA flights. :)
