Have done that, stayed 2 nights in Yosemite here http://www.yosemitepark.com/Accommodations_YosemiteLodge.aspx absolutely fantastic as we had a view of the falls from our balcony. Booked direct so cant help with either of other 2 questions. Took in Sequoia nat park on way from Yosemite to Vegas the giant redwoods are amazing.
EDIT Reading Neilbonds above post, maybe we stopped another night nearer to Vegas after Sequoia nat park (cant remember)
When we do the Yosemite - Sequoia route to Vegas we usually stop in Bakersfield or Barstow in a cheap and nasty Motel depending on how far we can be bothered driving..... but if the OP's missus isn't the great outdoors it might not be worthwhile visiting the redwoods. Last time we were there, there were bears running around the place ...ahhhh cute, until mum appears!
Going out the east entrance of Yosemite we normally spend a Night/day at Mammoth Lakes and then a night in Bishop to break the journey up.
The down side about Yosemite in September is that all the falls will have their minimum water flow of the year.0 -

I think we stayed in Bakersfield in a cheap motel. We were in Yosemite in April so lots of water, wouldnt be the same if there are no "falls"
Shame to miss the redwoods though as the OP would be so close
We went on a bear hunt one evening ....glad we didnt find one!!0 -
AprilI only saw two shows last time I went and both of these were paid for by someone else. Should I book now? What are the must see shows in vegas at the moment? Are the classic Penn & Teller, Cirque etc worth all the hype? Is this just a case of browsing through the Tix4tonite site linked in the OP of this thread?
Tix4Tonight's website will only list a small number of shows in their 'sneak peek' - it's not comprehensive by any means. In some cases you can find similar discounts in advance booking online (without waiting a queue on the day)- places like travelzoo and smartervegas are worth checking but like trets said it depends on the show.
We liked Penn & Teller - some people hate the show. We liked all of the Cirque shows we've seen (Love, O, Ka, Mystere) - we've seen Mystere and Love twice each - I'd go see Love again next trip without hesitation - thought it was great.
I'm not sure what the must-see shows are - I think that Criss Angel's Believe is probably the most-avoid show though. I still think if it were really cheap we would go to see just how bad it is.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
