Seems like many people are pretty satisfied with HSBC. I've been with Wells Fargo for 6 years and their customer service has always been excellent in my opinion :j.0

My experiences with HSBC have been terrible. So much so that I switched to Natwest. Have been very happy with them. Plus I can phone my branch directly. It's fantastic.A big thank you to everyone who contibutes to the MSE forums :T0

I hate A&L with a passion - I really do.
Internet banking is confusing, telephone banking dont seem to give a stuff and they are STILL refusing to remove false information FOS ordered them to remove immediately - a year ago. On the plus side the problem with the debit card seems to have been ironed out now (although one or 2 websites dont like it, I've got a Capital One Visa for that)
Although I can truthfully say they arent as bad as NatWest :rotfl: Dont even get me STARTED on them!!!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -

I'm pretty happy with Bank of Scotland here. The branch staff are very friendly, online banking is straightforward and whenever I've had to phone them for something they've been very knowledgeable and friendly.
Also got an account with the Co-Op and their branch staff are also pretty good. Their online banking is a bit basic compared to Bank of Scotland, but their phone banking is very good.
I'd happily recommend either of them, although the Co-Op's online service might make me lean a little more towards Bank of Scotland.0 -
I'm with the co-op and am generally happy. Although my debit card died on me a fortnight ago and they've screwed up on replacing it. However they were quick to admit their error, rectify it and pay me under their service guarantee.0

+1 for first direct!0

and another for First Direct, absolutely brilliant and been with them well over 10 years now. Love the fact you call and talk to a "person" (and helpful one at that!) straight away.0

Another First Direct fan here.
As an ex LTSB customer (and employee) FD came as a breath of fresh air.
Agreed that their savings rates are generally very poor, however this is not an issue for me as I have my offset mortgage with them now and it's excellent. I can pay money off the mortgage instantly and watching the reducing balance each month is a real incentive.
My only slight gripe is that, as previously mentioned, the internet banking can cause a few problems in certain areas.Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0
