Just popping in to say Happy Hogmany to you all (even NPM and Thriftlady with your Bah Humbugs!;) - you are so obviously NOT Scottish!!).
I am having a quick scoot around the house with a duster, doing the washing and putting clean sheets on the beds, the I plan on getting rid of my grey hair for 2010, and then I'm off to w*rk at 2pm 'til 9. In true Scottish tradition, if anyone messes up my house for "The Bells" whilst I'm at w*rk there will be hell to pay, so I'm sending them off to the MIL to mess up hers instead!:p
Not looking forward to w*rk, as it has been mental in there for the last couple of weeks. I don't really like to talk about who I work for, but let me just say that if your heating has broken down at all in the last fortnight, and you've been trying to get someone to come fix it, you may have an idea of what my job's been like. I am stressed just thinking about it. This is usually a relatively quiet time of the year, too.
Have a gorgeous day everyone, and if like me, you're glad to see the back of 2009, I hope 2010 brings you all the happiness you deserve.
Special hugs to Jayne and George, Sunnygirl, and Essexgirl (for your near-miss yesterday, hug him extra tight tonight)! Free hugs to everyone else,

Morning all,
Just to pop in and say I wish you all a Happy & Healthy New Year. We've only got a few hours here before we see in the year. (Nicky nicky nah nah )We did have the option of going to a party or to the club tonight but decided to be wet blankets and stay home.
Both of us couldn't muster up the energy to get ready.
Had a bit of rain in the morning but cleared up to the occasional shower this arv. I made some frozen mango bars this morning using 5 mangoes. They taste lovely. Nicer than the Weiss bars. I've got enough ingredients to make another batch so might do that tomorrow. DGS had a swim this arv and is happily playing with his new toys.
Enjoy your day & night time celebrations. See you next year. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning everyone
No news yet. DH stayed at the hospital until 3am then came home, had a bit of sleep & has gone back up there with SIL. I'm staying here for the time being but will go up later on. The staff were saying that they would like to transfer MIL back to her old peoples home today if at all possible. The home have a good Pathway care (end of life) system set up and MIL would be in familiar surroundings. We've been told to expect anything up to 4 days but I hope not for MIL's sake. I knitted like crazy last night as I needed to keep busy so am using that energy and tackling the ironing soon too. Once I'm dressed that is
I will be making meatballs & spaghetti for tea tonight as the elder kids are all out at various parties later on. We never go out anyway, I'm a bit bah humbug with New Yar myself too. No doubt we'll be with MIL though.
Thank you for all your continued support it means such a lot. Have a good New Years Eve and stay safe. May 2010 bring good fortune & happiness to us all.
EssexGirl What a shock but I'm so glad that it has been caught early xxx0 -
Morning all-not posted for a couple of days but would like to thank everyone who offered their condolences when my aunty died the other day,it means a lot :A
Meanwhile DH is coughing his head off,and I am streaming so I don't think we'll be out tonight. We had a tentative plan to meet up with some friends at our local, but its not fair to spread the lurgy.Hope all you partygoers have a great time and stay safe.
We are another household glad to see the back of 2009,lets hope 2010 is better for everyone. On the good news front,DH finally secured the extension job he's been pricing for what seems ages,so that will see him and DS1 in work for 3 months-generally the worst time for builders after New Year. They will prob start next week.:j
Not much OS happened in the last couple of days. The nephews and their dad came yesterday, and I did a buffet, but mainly bought in stuffNice to see them. I have been dosing myself with hm elderberry syrup for my cold-does that count? Oh and I've nearly finished a crochet ruffle scarf-its not perfect but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it
Anyway hugs to those in need esp Sunny and Essexgirl, and D1965- we've had a similar situation with our son this year so I sympathise.
All the best for 2010 to everyone.xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Mioliere - sorry you've had a bad back, thats not good.
Essexgirl - sounds very scary for hubby, at least it was an early warning for him though. Hopefully you can crack his addiction to cream cakes!
Sunnygirl - hugs.
Hugs to anyone else that needs them.
Not having a good day so far, although I shouldn't moan as its all silly petty things compared to what people are going through on here. Fridge freezer supposed to be coming today - out of stock. Luckily I rang, or would have been sat here like a lemon all day waiting for it. Also managed to drop a full jar of golden syrup on the floor that smashed to smithereens and empty a gloopy mess onto the tiled floor - that was fun to tidy up!
Have booked tickets to see Alvin and the Chipmunks at the cinema tonight. Had a couple of free ticket codes, so have only paid for 1 out of the 3 of us. Thinking of going either for toby carvery or pizza hut beforehand as a treat, although can't get on pizzahut website for some reason.
Have sent kids to their rooms to tidy them, and to put all their Christmas presents away that were littering the lounge - I don't expect them to come out again for hours as its a big job!! :rotfl:
Have a good day, and Happy New Year to eveyone on the site. :beer:0 -
Thank you all for your supportive comments, Taplady - I will do, we are just getting our heads around it at the moment.
Cranky so sorry to bring things up again, (((hugs))) for you.

Essexgirl and Sunnygirl - my thoughts are with both of you at this very hard time (HUGS)
Cooked a chicken in the slow cooker yesterday and it was beautiful, made some HM Wedges to go with it, yummy!! Have chicken in some rolls today for work but I finish in half an hour anyway :j
I'm not fussed on NYE alhough my Dad is as he's a Scot, so me and OH always go to Mam and Dad's for some nibbles and a few bevvies and stay there overnight as we have New Year Dinner with them.
Wishing everyone good health and happiness in 2010. Hope you enjoy yourselves tonight and tomorrow and over the weekend :beer:0
