Hello folks, hope things improve for you all that have problems at the moment. I decided yesterday that I would take today off work and get the house tidied and everythign upto date as much as possible - then I will have to goto the dreaded Mr T's and the butchers. I will have an afternoons baking - its a tradition here to have Steak Pie and make a Clootie Dumpling for new Year so that will be the first priority. Nothing much planned for tonight, will see the bells in then head off to bed.
Hope you all have a happy hogmany - cheers!Every days a School day!0 -

Morning All
I've woke up quite excited...not sure why tho
Questioned the troops yesterday and the common theme was New Years Day Dinner early ie today ( great minds Diva ) so the gammon is in the slow cooker and I have two turkey joints just to pop in the oven later this morning. All the veg needs preparing but I' looking forward to a lovely dinner with all of us together eating good food and knowing that the boys have a good lining before hitting the beer!
Updated my new diary yesterday - put in all the birthdays for the year (I use my phone but like to have a paper backup) I've put my new year resolutions on the first page to help keep me focused!
I have a busy weekend already MSing for the 9th January but I'm not complaining - I need the money and I do enjoy it
I've managed to follow the flylady all week  which is some achievement for a[STRIKE] lazy[/STRIKE] time-challenged woman such as myselfI know the house is better maintained for it but blimey the state of this place is enough to depress you! I feel like I'm fire fighting as there's so many of us in the house all day. I don't really mind though as with being off work I have the time to sort it.
My DD slept until 7:18 this morningI am announcing it as it is never likely to happen again she is very much an (early) morning person and I'm lucky if she sleeps until 6am! Maybe thats why I'm in a good mood
We won't be going out tonight (too many littlies!) but I will be having a drink in the house but nothing drastic! I used to feel that I had to go out on New Years Eve and that my parents were so boring because they never - not sure whether it means i'm old or content
Anyway if I don't get back on today I would like to wish you all the very best for 2010 and beyond, I'll be remembering 'auld acquaintances' and counting my blessings.
Enjoy the last day of the 'noughties'!

Morning all
Hugs to D1965, Mioliere sorry to hear about your back, Essex girl & DH, Pooky, hope things improve soon. PP hope you don't have to stay in hospital.
Diva, loads of turkeys at our local butchers, but I bought spring greens & mushrooms.

Plans for today include taking the tree down, vacuuming round & taking hubby for a drive.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all.
No OS for us today. We are off to friends later on this morning.
I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and hope you all have a good evening, whatever you're doing
Sunnygirl - still keeping you in my thoughts.
Essex girl - hope your hubby is ok today, and although it must have been really worrying for you all, you can now work towards preventing anything worse. (((HUGS)))There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they'll take you - Beatrix Potter0 -
Good morning
Sunnygirl thinking of you and your family
Essex girl that's what happened to my husband, and although he felt ill several times while he was on his last trip, nobody thought to take it further. Eventually he had the heart attack that killed him. Hopefully your DH will be OK now.
Bitsy Another one here not looking forward to the midnight blitz!
Not much in the way of OS to report here. House is clean and tidy, all washing and ironing done, no visitors so no big meals to cook. DS and I will have something home made from the freezer for dinner. I think I may take him to Liverpool today to look for some more Go Penguins.
Take care all of you.0 -
Hi,
Essex Girl - hope your husband feels better soon. Thank goodness you know what is happening and take action
Sunnygirl - still thinking of you
A very boring New year for me - early bed. DS1 and DD off to various new year celebrations. I have to go and get my mum a birthday card as her birthday soon. Im waiting for kids to go back to college/school to get back to OS. My house resembles a tip but cant do much till my cleaner gets back.
Hope that everyone has a safe and warm celebration and I wish you a Happy New Year xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
