Last morning of 2009 - so I hope that everyone has a great time tonight. We're making yet another attempt to get to Glasgow this morning, seems to be bad road conditions in the Borders but M74 passable with care. As I'm now driving a courtesy car I'm guaranteed to take even more extra care.

So, OS ways here are roughly staying at parents' house! Have packed wine and stuff but it's been waiting to go since Christmas Eve.

Hope that everyone has peace (if not quiet) tonight and in 2010. For all those going through less than smooth times I wish you all the best too.

Thanks for all the advice and laughs here in the past year, long may it continue.

    :beer::beer:

    morning all:j
Very cold here but no snow thank the lord.
Going into Sheffield at 9 with DS:eek:, not looking forward to it but he needs new shoes.....I usually measure his feet and order them online with no problems as he cannot cope with shops but I measured them last night and he is a size 2!!...as he is only 6 and a half it seems like a big pair of flippers to me;).......so need to make sure. Am dreading it:o.
Making corned beef hash in SC when we get back and a poppy seed loaf.
    Having roast dinner tomorrow.
Wanted some time with OH on our own last night:rolleyes::o but no chance, DS still up and downstairs at 9 30 messing about, when you have been up since 5 with him you have really come to the end of your tether by then:cool:.
I gave up and went to bed to watch the rest of the ghost thing I was watching on BBC1......then couldnt get to sleep after for ages as it spooked me:o
Sunnygirl I hope things are ok and you are coping with whatever is happening....I hope for all your sakes it is quick and peaceful.
Essexgirl that must have been scary but at least he can now make the lifestyle changes needed and has been given that chance.

I am not celebrating New year as I think it is a waste of time and do not see the big deal:confused: but hope you all have a happy healthy 2010

    Good morning all:wave:

We don't celebrate New Year's Eve either NPM -unless you count staying up till midnight and moaning that there isn't anything on the telly :p Still it's an excuse for a drink isn't it?_party_:beer:

Good luck with the shoe buying btw ;)

Right, today I must do a bit of ironing and some washing. I think the kids and OH are going shopping this morning so I'll have a bit of time to myself.

Lunch will be leek and potato soup and toast.

Supper will be chicken breasts stuffed with a mixture of sun-dried tomatoes, black olives and garlic (I'm trying to use up a few things). I shall serve them with peas and sauteed potatoes. I think I'll make a pud of some sort- mincemeat, banana and apple crumble probably. Need to send someone out for cream;)

Sampled my Christmas cake yesterday -blimey! Good job I didn't need to drive anywhere afterwards. Mustn't let ds1 have anymore!

    Morning all!

Hoping for a nice calm day today! Yesterday I crashed my car, lost a kitten and received a great deal of hassle from my brother! I shall be glad to see the end of this year, it hasn't been one of my finest, though there have been some good points, so I shall hang onto those memories and try to forget the rest!

I'm just waiting for a call from the garage, hopefully they will collect my car today and drop off a courtesy car, fingers crossed that they aren't shut until next week!

OS stuff will be limited today to pottering and gentle tidying, was hoping to go out with the kids, but without a car we won't be going for our planned meal for ds's birthday! Still dd2 has plans to cook him something if we can't sort out the car today, bless her!

Everyone is still asleep here except me, so no doubt they will all be awake at midnight whilst I'm nodding off! No partying here, couple of village events going on, but think we'll all just stay at home together, and welcome in what I hope is brilliant 2010!

Time for a coffee and a catch up now, hugs to all who need one xxx

Morning all....(((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) if you need one.....

Essex Girl: what a good job you called the paramedics, you have a chance to change things.

The sun is shining but it feels cold IYSWIM. Sheets in the washer, towels waiting to go in. A trip to the launderette to dry them. Cleaning in between waiting for the washer to finish.

DS2 and children due to land sometime this morning, he is going to do a couple of little jobs for me.

We will not stay up for the NY, but will be reading in bed, the fireworks will keep us awake until after 1am I am sure.

Just want to wish you all: Health, wealth and happiness for 2010.

    Morning folks
(((hugs))) to those going through difficult times.

Dogs been walked round the park.

    WM about to go on.

Plans include a trip to the bank to transfer some money as have realised the money could be working for us in a better way:money:.

My first Hogmanay back in Scotland since....hhmmm.....1994 when we came up for Christmas and New Year. Anyway, will toast the bells with a nice dram in DD's flat and luckily have views of Edinburgh Castle so will watch the fireworks from the window:beer:.

If I'm not back *in* here before, then I wish you all a very Happy New Year and may it bring you peace.
