    I'm mentally organising again...
  • :eek::eek::eek:
How did you cope with that?? My ds came the day we were moving house  I thought that was bad enough!

Thank you all for your kind words about pregnancy loss. Actually the sonographer at that scan was the nicest person I have ever met in the NHS. She had a tear in her eye and obviously found it difficult to tell us our baby had died. She knew we had no idea anything was wrong (I had no mc symptoms and had bad morning sickness still). She was as nice as she could be. I can not say the same about any member of staff I had to deal with after that :( No one treated me like a grieving mother - which is how I felt. I was devastated.
Anyway yes the woman at my scan was rather crap yesterday. We are considering a private scan. We had one at 9 weeks with this pregnancy to make sure the baby was OK passed the point our last baby had died and they treated us really well.

Anyway..........on with getting organised...... the snow kept me and ds at home today so I did do some housework but not as much as I would have liked. Nevermind....I will give myself a kick up the bum tomorrow - after I have taken DS to Yoga Bugs and I have met up with my best mate for a coffee :D ...please someone kick me NOW...I need to get organised!

how far are you now moneysavingdiva? hopefully your past the early stage so you can relax (easier said) a little.
it wasnt too bad when i broke my back, luckily the pressure of little man kinda even'd it out, it wasnt until after he was born i felt the full force of it and couldnt move for weeks! but i have a very involved hubby who looked after me, i bought myself a doppler (being hugely paranoid after loosing baby prior to him) which relieved me a little, it was the first thing i did after followed by a swift trip to hospital.

i know how much of a shock it can be, i should have been 18 weeks with my first, still had craving etc no signs of m/c until that scan where they told me baby had died at 8 weeks  and yes you are a grieving mother, the worst part is that not alot of people understand (unless they have been through) because its not real to them until baby arrives but we feel bubs from day 1.

anyway waffling on as usual :D got a few things to do tonight but not a huge list so no point popping it down. it was so nice to get up this am all organised :D
Can you see the mountains through the fog?

All this baby care talk -- I don't see why people think babies need constant attention. The baby won't spontaneously combust if you leave it alone in another room while you do the washing up! If you give them constant attention they'll get used to and expect it, then you're setting yourself up for a really demanding child. People used to have 4,5 or 6 kids and manage fine. Either by leaving older ones playing with the baby or just letting baby roll around on the floor with some toys for a while. If you're worried about older children/animals then a travel cot in the living room is really useful. In goes baby and some toys, all safe!

    Baby is not in charge!!!!!
I may sound cruel but I now have 2 very well behaved toddlers who will entertain themselves happily for ages while I do other things, like wash up, cook etc... because I didn't train them to think they need me around all the time.

It's just started snowing again here this morning, we've had another inch at least and it's coming down thick and fast. We'd planned to go visit my parents today as it was my little sister's 14th on Monday and I haven't got her present to her yet, but not sure we'll risk it now. Arrrgh I was hoping it would all be melting today!

    Jobs for today
    Dress kids
    Dress me
    Flylady list
    Wash Up
    Defrost something for dinner
Tidy Utility Room (yes, I know it's been on here for days but it's sooo cold - 4 degrees - in there I keep putting it off).

That would be fine if you don't have pets. I would never leave her in a room alone for more than a few seconds - even though they are good with her when I am around and run when she squeels, I wouldnt take the chance.

And we had snow again too :( PLEASE snow go away already!!!

Hey can I join this thread?? I'm stay at home mum with a baby who is 8 months called Jakob. I have a big furry black haired dog that ruins my carpets every day lol. I'm also doing a distance course which is HARD!! my house is constantly messy / unorganised which i hope to try to change this year.. oh and i attempt flylady, used to be good at it and loved the way my house looked but now i can't seem to do it as Jakob just cries whenever I leave him to do stuff!

and I agree what the people before me posted about leaving the baby alone, but as I said Jakob has started screaming as soon as I even walk towards the door of the room we're in... it's ok when other people are around as long as there's at least one person he's fine, but as soon as he's alone he screams like mad... and constantly... it doesn't stop. I had family round before and they were saying 'oh he just wants attention leave him and he'll stop after a while' and while i agree that it is the attention i think he wants he just did not stop.
I don't know why he suddenly wants more attention though?
We wake up at 7, I feed him.. then about 7.30 i put him on the floor to play while i pick up any bits around the room etc.. at about 8 i play with him till 9 when he has breakfast... then i attempt to leave him to do some washing etc but end up going back up there about half 9 because he is screaming so much.. play with him till 10 which is nap time so i run and shower, do any leftover washing up, put a load of washing in, hoover etc etc
but it's just driving me crazy not being able to do much while he is awake!!! i got a playpen off ebay and picked it up the other day... so i know he is perfectly safe but yeah, i don't know.. it's just weird because he used to be fine and now suddenly i can't do anything :s

ANYWAY sorry for long post... today i have to...
    [STRIKE]-Wash up leftover washing up[/STRIKE]
-Put a fresh load of clothes to wash
[STRIKE] -Take all dry clothes to airing cubhoard
-Hoover living room + Jakobs room
[/STRIKE]-Organise paperwork that's all over the living room
    -FINISH biology unit 3
    [STRIKE] -Give Jakob a bath
-Pick up medical textbooks that I got from freecycle :) ( in the rush hour :( )
    [/STRIKE]

    Could he be teething?
I dont have a whingy baby but she is at the minute since getting a tooth. She'll be all smiles one minute then she must get a pain and she's clingy - then she's fine again!

  • Have to say ladies/men I am sitting in the most wonderful smell!
I just used Detol floor wipes -lush!!
I cant use sprays, it has to be wipes. I will buy these again!!

My mum came round today so I got on with stuff while she watched her cos he wouldnt.
I want to get a really deep down clean in all the rooms so it's just easier to give everything a going over. I'll wait till 'he' goes though as it's for our benefit not his :p

Hope the snow goes overnight cos could do with getting my baby out for a walk. I bet she's sick of the sight of the walls!

  • Mucho respecto! i had an epi with dd ( topped up 3 times lol) she was back to back but didnt feel a thing

but with DS i got to the hospital too late so didnt have anything, he was back to back and only 7lb5 and i screamed like a banshee throughout! i think if DS was any bigger i would have died!!

I didn't have one as I knew it might slow me down and end up with a section. I was a bit gobbed smacked when one of the mums said I didn't have a natral birth as I had an espesotom (when they cut you sorry tmi ) had to laugh didn't know it was a competition! think everyone who has kids have met a mum like that :rotfl:
I'm keeping a open mind to see what happens on labour day just wish it will hurry up.
I am a walking ( or should I say wobbling n limping ) moan bag due to the spd.

The advice is good here, I started a tread about going from a toddler to plus newborn and got some good advice. will have a look if there is anything new on it.

    But back on track,
things I have done today (not a lot but with spd everything is harder, painful and slower )

we brought a bed for the spare room.
    Hoovered downstairs
    Mopped down stairs
    cooked roast dinner

    things to do 2mow
    Tidy upstairs
    Dust up stairs
    hoover
    put the washing away
    do a load of washing

oh while I remember the gift for a 30 year old. How about getting stuff to remind them of being a teenager? almond macaron lipstick from rimmel, dew berry perfum from the body shop. Don't think you can get them now but how about making a cd with all the tunes from their teenage years? Bros or newkids what ever they were into?
  • how far are you now moneysavingdiva?

I am 20 weeks so I am passed the worrying stage :T although not sure we will ever totally relax during this pregnancy.

Today took ds to yoga bugs, met my best mate for a coffee, ds fell asleep in buggy so I had a sneaky lunch in Macdonalds without him being aware! (;) My babies always crave MacDonalds big macs ;)) Then got home and didn't do alot :o Then made tea and tidied up, emptied dishwasher, did a mad dash round the house, sorted out washing etc, then went to my aqua natal class to relax :D Now I need to clean up kitchen again for about the third time today (why do kitchens need constant cleaning!!? arrrr It is never ending!) I need to put the bread maker on for tomorrows lunches and then I will then ignore all the toys all over the living room floor and go to bed :p

Which is why I suggested a travel cot in the living room. I would never leave a child alone with animals either

Will delegate some to OH as he's still at home. Hoping baby will come today as he's back to work Monday so this'll be the only time he'll have off now we can't afford for him to have any time off when baby's due.
Been having a lot of twinges and pain so sure it's any day now - positive baby vibes please everyone!
