As this weeks "topic" was food shopping, and I've just been reading the OS thread on Storecupboards...

My task for tomorrow... (anyone want to join?)

Go through the freezers and pantry and inventory them - or at least work out how much food we have and how many meals I can make before having to go shopping. Last weekly shop was last sunday so theoretically I am due one but no way we'll be getting to a supermarket. Corner shop is great but eventually they will run out of stuff... I didn;t want to panic buy but becuase I didn't I am now worried that I will use up everything I DO have just in time for all the shops to run out too!
At least if I find out what we really have in and work out what I can make from it I'll know where we stand... so

    Sunday to do list
    Inventory freezers
    Inventory pantry
    Meal plan using inventory
Identify low stock and plan ahead...

    Tidy utility room
Linen cupboard if I get really bored...
Net curtains back up in LR

  • Cant believe it is still snowing - the novelty has worn off for me.
For those people due soon I hope the snow goes for you! But I htink it will be easier looking after a newborn when it is cold - my daughter was born in a heatwave and it was a nightmare makign sure she was the right temperature. She would sleep just in a vest and no blanket it was that hot - it would have been easier wrapping her up.
And good luck getting a cleaning routine in now and getting ontop of everything, cos you wont be bothered for a while after your babies come :)
Juts concetrate on the washing and bottles - thats all it's about for the first month at least.

    Well my day went:
9.10am 5oz bottle and anppy change then straight up today. Played till:
11.15am and another 5oz bottle and nappy change then more play time and a bit of dinner
12.45pm She had a nap but it was on my knee so have been lacking in mid day cleaning! She woke up at:
    1.30pm and played till:
2.05 pm and an 8oz bottle, more play and ceebeebies
3.00pm food and juice, nappy change - mum came round till:
5.00pm 8oz bottle and snuggled on couch with toys
6.30pm bath and ready for bed, taken downstairs for:
7.00pm 7oz bottle then she fell asleep so took her to bed.

Have made up tomorrows bottles - have done 1 load of washing and onto 2nd, got washing drying - have washed dishes and part tidied sitting room - have gone over her toys with nursery wipes and her walker- have sorted out tomorrows nappies in their bags, have cleaned stairs with wipes and floor in passage - cleaned bathroom.
My mum said she will come and sit for me while I do my jobs during the day to get ontop of everything.

  • Just gave daughter 5oz bottle - cleaned kitchen floor (mostly) - cleaned benches - tidied sitting room sofa of xmas paper and bows, tags etc (new for next xmas) and put them on kitchen table ready to sort out - filled my hot water bottle and put in bed - filled daughters and put in cot - have removed and emptied our little day ones ready to fill up tomorrow (got them 2 for £1 at Poundland and 2 for £1 covers - apart from the strong smell they are great! If you can wash the smell off they are good for prams) - steeping 2 of her bottles as I type --- but why oh why does it seem like i have tons left to do and it is 1.40am and i am so tired!! :(

Anyhoo jobs for tomorrow - will clean bedroom in morning while daughter plays on the bed.

Haven't started my little challenge yet but have made biscuits with the kdsd and made a loaf of bread (well, it's proving, we'll see!).

For once it's not snowing and even starting to melt but before I get excited apparently SIL 10 miles away has just had loads :(

Looks like we have more food than I thought we did and as a lot of it has been there a while this is probably a good opportunity to use some up.
Also have loads of S/R flour, loads of rice, some pasta, potatoes, onions, tinned tomatoes, tinned carrots, 5 eggs etc
Don't have - Baked beans, fresh veg,

Need to work out what I can cook from this lot now...
    Let's start with Dinners
    Chilli and Rice
    Meatballs and Tagliatelle
    Cottage pie
    Sausage Pie/Roll and Chips
    Beef casserole and mash
Burgers and chips (would have to bake rolls though)

    Lunches/kids dinners

    Waffles and fish fingers
    Waffles and chicken dippers
    Sausages and chips

Leads me to what I came on to ask - I'd like to do a topic if thats ok with anyone? As we are all busy mums one thing I struggle with is devoting time to ME. it's in fact one of my new years resolutions :) So I'd like to ask questions about what me time others have, how they use it, there feelings on it and how we can get more of it lol x

That's what I'm worried about! I've been lucky with the boys in that they entertain each other. This one is going to require a lot more from me which will take some getting used to.

Well I'm trying to persuade OH to have a little snip lol so hopefully not! (they won't do me as at 24 I'm too young) This one was a total accident (well they all were really) and am determined not to let it happen again!

Guess I sound really heartless and un-maternal!

I'm sure you will find it fun. The older ones will likely take responsible roles too.

    The snip  Poor man!

Sounds like you don't want anymore, yet!
