Showers typically use less water than baths, but if the shower is electric and the normal hot water gas, then the bath will be a lot cheaper.

Threads like this is exactly why I never did all inclusive when I had a lodger, the gas and electric were always shared.

That way they don't feel hard done by when you moan about how much your electric bill is and you feel a little happier that the bill will always be split 50/50.

<quote> I've had 2 showers already today and probably spent over 20 minutes in there already with another one to come before bedtime. Hope no-one is timing me or working out how much it costs.</quote>

I don't have an issue with someone taking a 20 minute shower, myself - my showers are about that length.

However, as someone who showers approx twice a week, what are you doing that means you need three a day?!

If his monitor is going to £1.80 when she's in the shower for 20 mins, then its 60p;)

Even still 60p a day for 2 months (say 60 days) is £36 - far below the £400 he is getting in rent so not exactly out of pocket... Yes I know there are other costs in there too, but I doubt she's adding more than £6.50 a day onto his bills.

Think yourself lucky then that you were not a kid in the 1960's. Two baths a week (no one I knew had a shower) with shared bathwater. Other days just washed with a flannel in the washbasin...

Quite surprisingly we all survived... :rotfl:

I think kids can get away with it - they have a different
type of dirt to adults! ;)

Bathwater was often shared by adults AND children - my poor grandad apparently always had the last bath!
