    That's just ridiculous.

Wickedkitten - you surmised correctly that I do not wash every day. (which was what I meant in the first place, no confusion intended).

Again, I say 'so what?'. I think the reaction to such statements (such as BP's reaction) have been OTT. It really isn't necessary to wash everyday - I'm not saying you shouldn't, do whatever makes you comfortable but washing every day is not a necessity and does not mean, per se, that you smell or are dirty.

Why would you need to wash your armpits and 'bits', as you call them, everyday? How much do you people sweat?!
I work in gynae. Need me to say more?

isn't it sad that threads about small things - this small amount of money for "extra water" thread, and there was one a few months back about 56p on a rent bill - attract so much debate.... (including me i have to say !!)

Bettie, you shouldn't wash your "bits" everyday, as that carries a greater risk of infection - soaps mess with the pH of your body, especially ladies' bits - I've had the infection cos of it before and was told to only wash there every 2-3 days. And it hasn't come back since :) ). And OH doesn't seem to mind.

Also, it's WINTER, and I don't sweat very much. In the summer I have a shower-down everyday (not a full shower - again my skin won't take it and goes manky) to get off the sweat, then shower fully the next day to get clean again.

A lot of soaps are kinder to skin because they are closer to the skins natural ph, like Dove.

I don't sweat noticeably very much in the daytime, but I certainly do at night because we have a king sized duvet with flannelette sheets
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.

It really does depend on the person, I sweat very freely and therefore smell easily so I need to be particular about my personal hygiene. Even then (as a fitness instructor) I regularly have to throw away clothing that isn't totally fresh. :o I don't find Dove soap gentle - it gives me contact dermatitis.

Some can get away with not washing much - you realise this if you go camping or to festivals regularly! Obviously it's common courtesy to be as fresh as possible if anyone (professional or otherwise) is going to get up close and personal.

Hmm, ok, well I am so glad that some of you find this thread such a great excuse to bash, yes ok my bad for not increasing the rent, it was as a favour, she needed somewhere fast, stupid me for wanting to help someone. I know the shower will obviously use the same sort of power when I am in it, however I am in there for a max of about 5 mins, I wash, I leave, simple. As for me being creepy and "watching her in the shower", the fact that I am 110% GAY blasts that theory out the water im afraid! I find the energy monitor a new toy, so I seem to watch it all the time, hence me noticing the sharp increase in usage and it being the same 20 mins later, and I can hear the water running in the shower, so there is no creepy spying outside the door going on. I posted to see if I was being to over reactive, I didn't want to cause offence to her, it seems some people find they make themselves feel better by taking the pi*s out of others on the forums, very nice of you! Will think twice before posting for advice on here again.

There's a monitor you put in the shower that tells you when you've had enough water (They recommend 35l of water for a shower ... )
It's on ebay but I've shut the window it was in..

I love my owl electricity meter and think it's one of the best gadgets we have. Have been discussing energy use on facebook today. :)

I tend to find that I've had enough water when I've finished washing myself - if this alarm hasn't gone off do I have to stay in longer?
