    Hi everyone :D

Gone a bit quiet here was wondering how everyone is doing? Wondered if selling had gone quiet too....I am having trouble with an Ebay buyer (as per thread) and again realizing why I prefer Amazon for selling books!!! I know its not everyones cup of tea but I like the relative anonymity and that Amazon sets the rules to a certain extent so buyers just pay up. I know they are just as capable of causing probs later down the line but still.....

Thank you to everybody for the great tips on here. I hope to start listing on amazon over the weekend and will update if I sell anything - might get the kids to help for a small %

I've just had another pending go live this afternoon whilst I was at work and once again it shows as ldue to be posted by close of business tonight due to the date the buyer originally tried to pay. That means taking it to the PO tomorrow, less than 24 hours after payment will give me a strike on my seller metrics as a late shipper.

I'm really tired of this stupid glitch so I decided to wrap the book and print my postage online with RM, put it in my 'posting' bag and mark it as despatched today on the basis that if Amazon reckon the buyer 'bought it' last week even though they didn't, then I can 'post ' it today even though the PO was closed by the time I got in from work.

is there anyway of selling something on amazon that isn't already there.

i.e when i got to sell, it asks me to search for the product but it isn't there.

can you only sell what they already have in the system?

    thanks

Basic sellers can only list what is already on there. Pro sellers can add to the catalogue as long as the item has a bar code (or isbn number for books).

Personally I wouldn't risk listing a paperback under a hardback catalogue entry even if the ISBN us the same as Amazon may consider that wrongly listed and if the buyer complains you get to refund without possibly even getting the book back.

There is a paperback verison here, does this match the book you have with regards publishing date and number of pages etc?

My book was published 1996, second edition, 357 pages and has a grey cover so does not seem to be ANY of the ones on there!!!

  • All of a sudden I've had no sales for days, has anyone else experienced this? I've got about 600 books listed and usually sell at least three or four per week.:(

I had a few days of no sales last week, but apparently they were upgrading the site (oh dear ). However, I've just started a long hours contract that means i may be staying away to work for a while and of course that meant that I instantly sold 4 books which I have just had to wrap in a terrible hurry and rush to the PO as I can't see any way of getting to the PO at all for a few days next week and intended turning my books off.

I've had the opposite of this I have only a fairly static list 150 books listed and some of it has been around ages and i had another sale this morning :D. I just leave the books to run there as they don't take up much room and sell one or two a fortnight, while its still only about 6 it's all the exepensive ones that have been there ages - £20 for a small cheaply posted book this morning! Im sure it won't last but just enjoying it for now!

Even as non business low turn over seller I find this incredibly annoying too:mad:
