I had someone order on the 23rd last year and then want a refund as it hadn't turned up the next day as they wanted it for an xmas present!
I had that too a number of years ago - not on Amazon, but it does happen.

It's about the only time I've got annoyed at a buyer.

A similar thing happened to me, the customer emailed me asking if I could get a Disney video to her by the 24th I said yes but only by using special delivery and increasing the price to reflect that, she agreed so I increased the price and then the order went pending, the silly woman forgot to update her card details. I tried emailing her to tell her with no luck, I think I even rang Amazon customer service to ask them to phone her but they wouldn't, she didn't find out until the evening by which time it was to late.
She lived 100's of miles away so I couldn't deliver it by car either, so then she asked me could I deliver it by a same day service!!

I replied Royal Mail were quoting me something like £70 and I had no idea if any other courier would do a same day service on Xmas Eve all that because she didn't check the email Amazon sent when she placed her order.
  • Hi cake21. What is that cd man! I am curious about it. :D
  • Hi
I'm new to the forum and to selling books so please be gentle!! I have put a few books on that are laying around the house and would like to take it the next step and hopefully earn some pennies! Although after reading the last few posts looks like amazon is very quiet!! When I checked one of the books I had it said not in uk catalogue but why not list on amazon.com. How does this work as its in dollars? Can you sell on both?

    Any help gratefully received

It never used to be possible for a UK seller to list on Amazon.com. If you can find a pro seller they can add the book to the UK catalogue for you so you can list there.

Unfortunately Amazoin are not logical and can be infuriating as they contradict themselves all over their help pages.

    Hi guys!

I'm a first-time seller on Amazon. I have a few books in French which I would like to sell on the Amazon.fr site as well as the UK site (for obvious reasons!) as they are unlikely to sell here. I've listed it on the British site, and ticked the

    'International:
    Transit time: 5 - 35 business days
Domestic and within Europe Domestic, within Europe and the United States Domestic, European, US and international

box, but when I check the French site, it doesn't appear to be listed.

    Any advice, please? :(

I was in exactly the same boat last year and went round in circles for ages. Ticking international just means that anyone in France looking at the amazon.co.uk site can buy your book.

To use amazon.fr, amazon.de etc you need to have a separate account on those sites, which I have. To then create seller accounts you need to have a bank account registered to an address in that country, which I don't.

If it's any comfort, my foreign language titles have been the most profitable, precisely because they are less prevalent
  • Cake21 is correct you need to sign up with a separate account to sell on amazon.fr, .com and .de but I thought Amazon now allow you to sell on their other sites and you DON'T need a separate bank account in that country now.
You would probably be better asking the experienced sellers on the official amazon seller support boards who will give you more details about how to do it.
