I have a tip for iPhone users - download the Amazon app and you can scan barcodes while out shopping to check prices to see if something will sell. That could be very useful to those of you who buy to sell but don't want to risk getting something home to find it not worthwhile

Make sure you're registered as a business if you're doing this!

Yes I should have said that too. I use it at work but if you are using it for personal reasons you should be

Oh, I'm sure the format isn't dead. I'm just saying I'm not a great fan of stockpiling a "collection" of DVDs in my house. I've realised I never dip into my collection and watch anything - instead I Sky+ everything and rely on my lovefilm subscription!

Just my personal take on DVDs - there's still a lot of life left in them.

The general rule with DVDs is that if they are in the £2/3/4 sale bins in Supermarkets than avoid. Some Disney DVDs normally hold their value quite well.

My sales has dropped like a stone this past week, I've sold 1 CD since last Thursday :(
  • I sold something on Amazon and the buyer has sent me an email saying some pages are missing. I check everything before I sell them so either they were very hard to spot or he has ripped them out.

He wants to return it (which I know Amazon let them do after they've finished reading it) but hes demanding that I pay his return postage as well! Where do I stand on this?

    Thanks
  • Anyone? :(

I not sold much on Amazon but I did read in the help that sellers can leave buyers negative feedback on Amazon and the only point of this is so sellers can see if other sellers have had issues with a buyer before.

Not sure any sellers do it but have you checked the buyers feedback?

If the book is damaged then that's not the buyer's fault.

Amazon take a very hard line against sellers. Just get the book back and refund the original costs, if he wants the return postage he can try an A-Z claim on Amazon which he may well win, but he might not risk it as you have a limited amount that you are allowed to do.

He can also leave you feedback and on Amazon one poor feedback can stop your ability to sell if you are a small seller.

I have to agree with soolin, if you don't refund his return postage you run the risk of a 1 star feedback, the way I understand it under the distance selling reg's they can return the item within 14 days without a reason.
Unless it was expensive postage it's not worth the hassle just put it down to experience.
