I've just been contacted by another seller who lives nearby who is giving up and wants me to buy her books, but I'm not sure i will bother.

  • TBH my sales are absolutely fine, though I'm selling off various items rather than just books, which is what a lot of people who're experiencing falling sales seem to be selling.

My sales have trickled since I first started in January this year, but I figure that for text books the start of the academic year (or terms or semesters) is likely to be the most lucrative. I sold one last month, rather surprisingly.

I've also listed some rare and valuable books for a local bookshop that doesn't want to deal with computers. I've not had a single bite on any of his, and it's been three months. He says business is now absolutely flat although he's earned a good living for the past 10 years.

I've never been pro-merchant because I knew I'd never have the kind of turnover to pay the fees, but I'm glad most of my old textbooks went to good homes.

After Christmas I'll probably rethink whether I want to carry on.
    Better is good enough.
  • On two separate high value items I've received similar enquiries - almost verbatim. Here's the latest:

i don't seems to get pics on here pls send them to : !![name] at !yahoo dot com

I assume it's a scam to get you to make contact off Amazon and sell via insecure payment methods? Has anyone had a similar message? The fact I've had it twice makes me think it's a popular ploy!
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Fay, I've always assumed it is a scam just like you suggest and have ignored them.

Hi all, have just started selling on Amazon again after a break of 6-7 months. Can anyone point me in the direction of the buyer waiting lists as I can't seem to find them again! Have a pro-merchant subscription but can't find the link.
    Thanks
    Becky

Here it is Becky004 https://sellercentral-europe.amazon.com/gp/flex/sign-in-sdp.html/277-8218602-1252256?ie=UTF8&destination=%2Fgp%2FSDPSupport%2Fpreorder-report-GB.html although it currently says they are experiencing problems, please try again later

Work sales are currently 10 for the last 7 days which is not great considering we have almost 2000 items listed. I am selling more books this week than last week. Also doing well on some small electronics and sold a Blu-ray DVD player here last week for £80 which was excellent.

At the current rate of sales we won't be eligible for toy selling in the festive period though :(
Not been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/155

Thanks for that JesaRose, going to have a look at it now.

I like the new Selling Coach which gives you ways to improve your listings.

Has anyone used the express delivery option on their sales yet? I still don't understand it properly. We could probably do it as all our items are sent out same or next working day, apart from weekends though so I don't know if we'd be eligible??
