Yes you can do poached eggs in the microwave,my friend does hers all the time that way,I`ve never tried it myself as I`m not much of a poached egg person. But if someone posts their method on here I will give it a go and see how they turn out.Or I could just phone my mate and ask her but she`ll have me gabbing on the phone for an hour which isn`t money saving.Debt Free Date:10/09/2007 :j :money:0

Slip of the finger on the thanks button - but in answer to everything.
Poached Eggs:
Place an egg in a cup or small bowl (I use those little plastic pots that steamed puddings come in) - with a little water in the bottom. Microwave on full for about 30 seconds - depending on your power you might need to do for a little more or less - (mine is a 900 watt) - cook a little less than you would normally as they continue cooking for a while. With a little practise you can get perfect eggs.
Telephone charges:
Sign up to 18185 - (free), and calls to landlines cost 4p for as long as you like - (hours even.)
Strepsy
Polystyrene scrambled eggs only happen when you don't stir them frequently enough - I find every 15 seconds to start and then 10 at a time until perfect.0 -
DD loves scrambled egg. The way she likes it best and we never have any problems...is:
2 eggs whisked
same amount volume of milk to egg IYSWIM
salt and pepper
Heat smallish pan with a little butter, then add eggs and keep stirring with a wooden spoon so although it sticks to the base, it doesnt burn. DD likes her eggs fluffy but well cooked and not wet too much. Also has to be served on the side of plate and not on the toast to go soggy:rolleyes:

Hi all
A strange thing happened at lunch-time today, I had all the ingredients to make proper scrambled eggs.
It is not often that I have whole milk, butter and eggs in the house at the same time, dont ask, I know I am strange, but today was one of these golden moments and I took full advantage.
Normally I will just 'neuk' a couple of eggs in a cup in the microwave and have with toast but yesterday I could only get whole milk at the shop so the final ingredient was in place and it must have sparked something in my subconscious because I woke this morning thinking scrambled eggs.
My method is nothing fancy, I melt the butter, add the milk and at this stage I add my mothers magic ingredient, a teaspoon of mustard powder, bring to the boil then add the eggs, stirring all the time till they firm up and lunch is served.
What I was wondering is if anyone has that extra thing that they add to make the difference to their scrambled eggs.0 -
cheese and onion scrambled eggs are great! (bit of very finely chopped onion and some grated cheese)0

Marmite on the toast before topping with scrambled egg, yum.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0

Another vote for cheese and finely chopped onion here!
Another favourite is a pinch of curry powder - how big depends on how strong you want the taste to be! Paprika/cayenne pepper/chilli powder is also good0 -
Only the basics with a touch of black pepper.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Hi torbrex,
There's an earlier thread with some more variations for you so I've added this thread to it to keep the suggestions together.
