  • i started making my first square from the art of crochet magazine, got to about the 7th or 8th row, and there was a big knot in the yarn, untied it and they had randomly tied a shorter piece into the ball, unravelled the rest to make sure it's not just all scrag ends tied together, but the rest is fine

going to restart that tonight. keep looking at lovely things to make, but haven't got round to buying any more wool yet, bit intimidated by the lady in the shop in my town, she is like a mix between shrek and quasimodo and has no patience for questions!

Well I have been to every concievable place that sells magazines or crafting things... hobbycraft HAD a couple - one other shop also had a couple but all sold on the first day. Hobby craft won't carry them (although about 20 people have asked them for them ) and the small shop couldn't guarantee it... so subscription it is...
Hohum... Wanted to support local businesses but doesn't look like they want my business :)

Loving all the pictures and dying to try crochet, but must finish my knitting first! Nearly there now......

I've bought issue 3 of Art of Crochet today and will send off for issues 1 & 2. At least that was the plan as one of my friends has said that it's only the first 3 issues available in the shops! Does anyone know anything about this???

That sounds a bit odd that they will only sell the first 3! Maybe its just some shops as people stop buying after a few issues. Maybe you could order it from your local newsagent so you know they will have it in for you.

Well, I am on target. I crocheted my hearts last night and the antenna. Tonight I am making one heart bigger (needs to cover the white heel on his bum!! :P), sewing 2 hearts onto my love bug and making the wings and hopefully he will be finished!!! I am already thinking about what to do next! This is addictive and I do have ds nagging me for a panda as daddy has the original panda hung up in his car!!

Not daft these publishers, they all stop sending them out (or news agents get fed up with all the mags) so you have to put in an order to keep getting the rest.

I still have issue 1 with sealed DVD if anyone wants it (please pm me and I will be happy to post it to you :D). I just can not get on with reading patterns. I find it so much easier to watch the video on youtube :D.

Still trying to finish my granny square blanket, Ive got loads of squares done but still more to go. Im going to put a cream fleece on the back :rotfl: not sure if it will work yet but will give it a go :)
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

    I have pm'd you!

I hope they don't stop selling it, but agree it would be a clever sales ploy. How many people would subscribe and then keep forgetting to unsubscribe??! Me for one lol........

I'm dying to finish my knitting..........

Hart if you like I could try (I say try!) and translate some of the patterns for you? did you find you could follow my round ripple instructions? :)
