  • I've been busy making a hexagon blanket. I knew I should have started with granny squares lol. I've promised myself I'll finish the blanket before I make anything else because I've got a bad habit of starting a hobby, imagining the lovely things I'm gonna make, buying the stuff and starting another new hobby.

I'm MSE aware now and want to wrap myself in my new blankie while I think about my next project.

Gosh....quite a few days and no posts on this thread. I hope you all haven't given up on crocheting.
I have kind of put my granny squares aside in annoyance at the moment and concentrated on my amigurumis instead. Don't know whether to post my creations here or not since I'm not really a beginner at it.

yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!! I love seeing your stuff. Its what I want mine to look like!!! ;)

I am back to sewing at the moment. The blister from my crocheting got sore, thankfully thats ok now but right by it my skin has got dry and cracked so got a really bad slice in my hand where the crocket hook would be. so can just about sew but even that hurts a bit! :(

Keep all the pictures coming, i want to do a blanket of granny squares at some point, am so jealous that everyone else can do them!!! Dd took the penguin i made to bed tonight and ds1 wants me to make a grizzly bear for him  i will worry about that when i finger is better!!! plus i still have to make easter bunnys!!

nuttybabe - not very MSE but I find that my wooden crochet hooks fit better and my hands don't get blisters or as sore as I hold them better :)

I buy them from Jimbo... be warned it's addictive! But they're soooo beautiful :)

Wow I am soooo jealous of all your blanket talk.
I'm finally back on line after 2 half weeks with no computer .... so I thought .... time to learn to crochet!!! OMG, what a nightmare.
I've watched the dvd, read and re-read the instructions and yet I am still unable to make a proper 'square' ...... think it's time to check out the utube tutorials.
Don't think I'll ever do a blanket at this rate :(

    Keep at it :)

I've tried to learn loads of times in the past and thought I'd never get it. I learnt using the magazine, the dvd, diagrams from books, photos in blogs and youtube. Something finally clicked but I did have to practise loads and I had fun unravelling my wool:rotfl:

Here is my latest gurumi, an elf. I have yet to sew a bell on his hat and embroider a mouth. He is approx 6" with the hat on.
