  • Keep at it betony - what exactly is the problem? I've managed to do nice line of single stitches though it still feels like hard work, I think making the foundation looser has helped.
  • hi there, I am determined to learn to crochet this year but I just can not get it to 'click' in my head everytime I look at instructions I see a mass of worms :o the most I can do is a slip not & simple chain & sometimes even that looks awful :rotfl: does anyone have any advise at all for someone that just doesn't get it

    thanks Sarah x

Hi, are you learning from a book? I taught myself last year and found the Youtube tutorials invaluble. It makes so much difference to actually see it in someone's hands.

Also do you know all the basic stitches off by heart? If you don't then a pattern will be difficult to follow. And make sure you're using the same 'terms' throughout, UK and US crochet terms are different so if you learn in one remember that it may be different to a pattern you then try.

Don't lose heart though, one day it will just 'click'. I learnt crochet very fast, like a duck to water lol but i can't knit for toffee - it just does not compute with me :o

    Take care
