Sadly a lot of small shops like this have vanished from round here... Because we are so close to an outlet village it means we have a very odd town centre with... an ecclectic mix of shops! :D

I'll try tomorrow :) Is there a web site address for them in the magazine?
Good luck on your quest! The magazine is http://www.theartofcrochet.com/ - I'm think I read of someone just getting the first issue from them without subscribing.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

You're welcome MrsT! I think you can cancel at any time once you give 4 weeks notice. So you could do it once you've got all the freebies! :j

  • NualaBuala try this link for making Granny Squares, I was in despair last weekend thinking I would never get the hang of it and I watched this link:-

    http://www.hookedonneedles.com/2009/02/learn-to-crochet-traditional-granny.html

Scroll down the page for the video and after you have watched that a few times and get the hang of it I then read the pattern which a link is posted on the same page as the video, it all made sense to me!

I've got four squares and made dd a ipod sock last night!

Thanks a million G&T - will bookmark that. :T I've only been half-heartedly trying to crochet as I'm halfway through knitting a poncho. Well done, you've done loads!

Artydoll - those wrist warmers are brilliant!

SueB - I was looking at pictures on youtube or on a website the other day (cant remember - looked at so many) and they had a amigurumi teddy with a unicorn horn!!! Do you want me to try and find it again for you or have you totally given up on that?

I managed to crochet 2 hearts last night for dh's sock love bug. i did one as per youtube instructions and then did a bigger one which turned out a bit odd shaped but no matter!! Need to do another heart tonight and the antennas and actually make the sock into a love bug! Tomorrow will be crocheting the wings (if all goes to plan...)

    Whats everyone else working on?
