Oh that's so cute!:T Alll your stitches look perfect to me. I think I've a long way to go before I try something that fancy.:D

Thanks. I used a 2mm hook (which snapped) and did the stitches really tight (hence the blister) but i still need practise.

you should go for it! there are loads of free patterns or videos on youtube which is how i learnt. i bought the art of crochet but couldnt really understand it and and couldnt do the granny square so got bored which is why i moved to animals. i dont think i even hold the hook right and i certainly dont hold the wool right!

And dont forget we need piccys! I love seeing what everyone has made.

Thanks for the encouragement! That's a great idea, I will check out youtube etc for extra tuition.. :p I'm half way through knitting a poncho so will be alternating that with the crochet to keep myself from getting bored. And if I ever get past the chains stitch I'll be happy to post pics! :D

Great to see other new people on this thread - good luck with your projects everyone.
Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far! :)

    Hiya all

    Hows it going?

I have decided on my next project! I am going to make a sock love bug with crochet wings, antenna and a big heart on his belly for dh for valentines. Just popped out and got a huge ball of wool which is red with sparkly bits in from poundstretcher (cant believe i paid for wool but cheaper than the 270 miles to raid my mums!! :P).

Just need to find a pattern for wings and the antenna as i have already seen one somewhere for the heart.

    Wish me luck!

How big do you need the wings to be, I got two or three patterns with wings included that might be suitable

but i have just read the instructions and they sound so hard.

if you have any simplish ones that are about the size of a hand that would be great.

    Thank you

Just what I was thinking! It's so cute and homey looking.:T Is it very hard to join up all the squares? I can imagine that if I ever learn how to crochet well enough to do squares that I'll end up with a pile of them and never join them all together! :D
