    they are a friendly bunch and most of them are not beginners and can most likely help

    At this point I'd just make 27 stitches evenly along the edge stabbing the hook into anything that could conceivably be a hole :D

    Hiya all

    Hows it all going?

    SueB - your elephant is great. i am going to do one at some point, he is on my todo list!!

    Well, last night i decided to make a sock monkey key ring instead of crocheting but he was too big for a key ring so i have decided to make him into a baby sock monkey and i am going to crochet him a hat, nappy, granny square as a blankie and a little toy. I have bought a smaller hook off ebay so when that arrives i will back!!! :p

    Keep up the good work everyone, i love seeing everything that has been made!

    Starting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs

    30lb lost of 30lb by June 2012 :j:j:j (80lb overall goal)

    If anyone wants the super easy round ripple pattern I don't mind posting it - but there seemed to be no interest so let me know if you want it lol

    Easy round ripple:

    Round Ripple Pattern.

    Materials: I use 8ply & 4mm hook and make sure I have 300gms which makes a reasonable sized blanket. But if you have thicker, just allow a little more.

    You can use any yarn as long as you use the appropriate hook.

    Abbreviations at bottom of pattern.

    Row 1: ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring. ch 3, ( ch 3 counts as 1 dc through out pattern). work 11 dc in ring (12 dc). join with sl st to top of beginning ch 3.

    Row 2: ch 3, 1 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around (24). join.

    Row 3: ch3, 1dc, ch2, 2dc into same place, sk1dc, *2dc, ch2, 2dc into next dc, (Shell made) sk next dc*repeat * to * to end. Join with sl st.

    Row 4: sl st into next dc, ch 3, 2dc,ch2, 2 dc in ch 2 space, (Shell made)* 1dc into next dc, sk next 2dc, 1dc into next dc, Shell into next ch2 sp, repeat * to * last shell, 1dc into next dc. Join as before.

    Row 5: sl st into next dc,(every row begins with a sl st.) ch 3, * 1dc into next dc , 1dc, ch2, 1dc into next ch2 sp, (V stitch made) *1dc into next 2dc, sk next 2dc, 1dc into next 2dc, V stitch into next ch2 sp,* repeat * to * ending last repeat with 1dc into next 2dc. Join as before.

    Row 6: sl st into next st, ch 3, 1dc into next dc, Shell into next ch2 sp, *1dc into next 2dc, sk next 2dc, 1dc into next 2dc, Shell into next ch2 sp* repeat * to * ending last repeat with 1dc into next 2dc. Join as before

    Keep on working in this way, repeating rows 4, 5 & 6, including the extra stitches in DC, as they appear.

    Change colour as you wish, being careful to join to the stitch you would have done the sl st into if you were not changing colour.

    Abbreviations:
    ch = chain
    rep = repeat
    sl st = slip stitch
    tog = together
    dc = double Crochet.
    sp = space.
    sk = skip

    if you get stuck just shout :) the middle looks quite wavy to start with but it evens out as the blanket grows :)

    It was sent to me by a lovely lady a few years ago from NZ so I can't claim the credit :)

    There's free postage and packing at readicut this weekend inc on their sale offers.
