    I made her using the pattern greenpixey kindley posted. The only thing I'd say is I had to shorten the trunk by quite a lot. It meant unpicking it. My suggestion would be to make the trunk but not fasten it off until you have made the legs and attached them. That way you can see if the trunk is too long or too short.

    Hi guys, have been watching this thread for a while now. Well i went through my late mums knitting needles (hundreds lol) and found a 3.5mm crochet hook. Have been practising and have done a chain of 20 stiches ....yay me lol. Keep undoing it and re-doing it - hubby thinks i'm mad.......but its great. Am loving it. Keep going with the inspiration please xx

    That's what I did too. I've finally finished the first square in the magazine and I started it 5 days ago :o It was a huge relief when I finally got to the bit of wool that hadn't been unravelled several dozen times.

    Next project will be mastering that blasted granny square. So far I've not been able to make sense of any of the countless videos or online tutorials I've looked at but it'll click eventually.

    Keep up the practise, it'll defo click ;)

    "Oh, it’s only me, the littlest Billy-goat Gruff and I’m going off to the hills to make myself fat"
  • Well im now sorted on double crochet and treble crochet if only I could read those blessed patterns! Loving everyones pics, I'm so jealous all I have to show is ravelled wool at present!!

    I wondered if anyone could help me...

    I'm following a hobby craft pattern for some children's mittens;

    http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/Pages/Ideas/Idea.aspx?id=1073

    Ive done the first part for the cuff and got to number 4.
    'For the main part of the mitt, turn work to enable you to work along row ends of cuff:
    1st row – 1ch, work 1dc into each row end, (27 sts) Turn.'

    But I can't figure out where to put the stitches :confused:

    Any ideas?

    Your help would be much appreciated, Lucy :o

    What you are basically doing is turning the work sideways and doing a double crochet into the end of the 27 rows you've just made.
    Did that make sense?

    Thanks Sue,

    I've turned it, but I don't know which part of the ends to work into. The pattern makes a ribbed effect for the cuff and so the rows have different endings ifkwim so it's hard to see exactly where I should be putting the hook :rotfl:
