I have been crocheting since I was a teeenager started off doing granny squares and afghans. I`m working on a few things at the moment. Started this hexagon blanket about 6 months ago, after seeing attic24 blog. Love how they look but get a bit fed up working in the ends. Beware crochet is addictive................ and if your anything like me you get fed up with one project and before you know it you have about 4 things on the go at the same time xxxx

  • Hi Everyone, well since I've bought the first part of the magazine last weekend I've not been able to practise until last night but now I've forgotten everything I've learnt. I feel like I'm back to square one (pardon the pun!!) Husband bought me the Jan Eaton book for my birthday 200 different patterns for granny squares, its gorgeous just wish I new how to complete at least one of them!! Kazipoo was that pattern really that easy? Could you let me have the pattern my daughter would love a hat the same what size hook did you use? Bbabs what an inspiration thats just what I want to do some lovely throws for my caravan would be perfect but at the rate I'm learning they might must be ready for Christmas 2011!!!

Hi all, room for a newbie? I'm hoping to master crochet this year. I've been sewn one basic stitch by my MIL for making the squares but have been hoping to lay hands on that new mag (not much luck so far) Would love to learn along with you and drool over your creations :D

Princesspoppy - it says on the crochet mag website that your newsagent can backorder for you which I suspect I will have to do too ;)

What a cute frog! Maybe I should have a go at animals again! Then again bbabs quilt has made me wonder if I should continue with mine?

I was going to make a hat for dd using the wool from an old scarf but she's decided she now wants that scarf!

Nuttybabe I love the hat. It looks so soft and feminine. Looks great on you!

I picked up the mag today, !

Seems impossible to get the magazine round here and doesn't seem to be a website for it either. Can you tell me who the publishers are as I thought I might contact them direct. Roads too bad to venture far yet!

Thanks Sue. your quilt looks good. i might have to try doing the squares again. maybe a few squares then an animal then back to squares so i dont get bored!

Lancedal - there is a website http://www.theartofcrochet.co.uk/home and there are lots of freebies if you get it off that. i was going to but as i only wanted issue 1 and i wanted it straight away i didnt bother.

i have just started on the penguin and i am actually reading the pattern (yay) and i think doing it right. i do need to get a smaller crochet hook but as i am just learning i think the bigger one is better so i can see the stitches easier.
