Fab socks SueB, first time I've seen a pattern for crocheted socks. I saved the pattern and will try it out. Really nice yarn you used too. I've written it down on a list to keep an eye out for in the future. Promised hubby not to buy any more yarn for a while :D

I'm giving away yarn on my blog btw if anyone is interested. I needed to have a clear out.

I'm glad you like them. At one point today I was sitting here with my hat and socks on. Maybe I now need to make mittens to complete the set:D

Greenpixey I've been over and checked out your blog. It's soooo professional! Your work is amazing. Maybe some of your talent will rub off on me:D

    hi everyone

been really busy today so not done any practice yet, i have to say everyones stuff is amazing. i've only managed chain, single stitch and now double but in finding it really hard, dont think im what you would call naturally gifted, but theres no way im giving up. im finding you tube the best as it shows me everything in left handed.

At the moment im practising with the yarn and crochet hook i got free with the magazine but i am wondering if it would be easier with thicker yarn, bigger hook.

    Can anybody advise?

    Cheers x

Ooh I'm so excited and inspired by everyone else's progress, I am struggling to get to grips with the basics (and I'm right handed so it's not just you lefties!)

Gonna keep practising tho cos I really want to make something fun!!

I think my biggest prob is tension cos my stitches are all really tight, maybe I should try amigurimi
Everyone's animals look cool, and I'd love to try the penguin :D

Might have to buy some yarn over the weekend, really enjoying all the pics everyone :T

I did it! Well nothing impressive but i can now do single stitch and double stitch, and have a very wonky square! Will have to keep practising i guess.

After my socks I thought I'd have a change of direction last night so I made a breacelet for my daughters friends birthday. She seems happy!

p-pincher - I made my hat with chunky wool and a size 10mm hook. I found using that sized hook really hard. Maybe try with a slightly bigger hook (5mm) and still use dk wool. Hopefully the hook will still be easy to use and as the wool is thin you'll be able to see there you are going. What does everyone else think?

Hi luce181. Have a go at the amigurimi. We'd love to see it when you're finished:j
:T loulou123. A wonky square is still a square. Well done hun!

I hope everyone is keeping well in this weather xxxx

By the way greenpixey. You have inspired me so much I've started blogging :D dd just put her head in her hands in embarassment when I told her what I'd done :D

    Thanks SueB

Going in town in the week and theres a charity shop that sells wool quite cheap and they also have knitting needles and crochet hooks so i might pop in to see what they've got.

Well last night i sat and made myself practice and practice. im finding you tube really good and if theres any lefties i really like this lady http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L7bB2-2k7wk&feature=PlayList&p=09F06F391A5E33E5&index=0&playnext=1 as her videos are really clear.

I did a chain of about 50 and then did a single stitch all the way along , then the next row i did double stitch then the next treble, then i repeated til i ran out of wool. Then i unpicked and started again.

Tonights the night as im going to watch the you tube video for granny squares and im going to sit and practice til i can do them. This is the one thing i really want to learn cos I really really want to be able to make a blanket like penelope penguins blanket on her blog cos i thinks it beautiful. xx
