    Hey Guys,

So today is the 1st day of a brilliant and fabulous new year ( I will remind myself of that thought!)

    What have I done today?
    - brought back an unwanted gift for a friend and got the £25 in cash. So straight round to the Halifax to pay it into the ATM
    - listed 12 or 13 items last night on Amazon, just sit and wait now (plus the odd prayer)
    - checked how my first item is selling on ebay, still no increase in bid, but more people watching it
    - worried myself sick last night that I would run out of things to sell on ebay and then this morning found some skincare products that I'd been given as a pressie ages ago, seal still in tact, so straight onto ebay as soon as I have paypal set up properly
    - calculated how long it will take me to clear my HBOS OD by paying in extra each month and it's Mar 2013
    - Calculated how long it will take to clear Tesco and COne by paying in extra each mth, 44 mths and 33mths respectively
    - paid my £1 a day
    - went to shop to buy some things, totted up the total in my head before reaching the till, and it came to £3.55. Till showed £3 so 55p went into my piggy bank. And for those of you wondering, one item was stickered as £2.55 and till showed £2, hence the 55p saving
    - I will aslo get my HBOS online banking sorted again as I lost the password.

Also, if any of you have a diary will you let me know, some of you I've already subscribed too and others I can't seem to know where to look to find out if you have a diary.

Thats all for today my wee debt busting buddies.

    Till tmmw, be good.

Sorry, have to write this down.

Just called HBOS to check on account and found that I could reduce my OD by another £40. The man I spoke to asked me why I would want to do that???? Eh hello, how stupid a question is that to ask someone who doesn't pay any money in on a regular basis.

Why on earth are the banks allowed to make it so hard for us to pay money back and reduce our debt? Every time I've tried with them they just throw obstacles in my path. A year ago I'd have said, 'yip your right, I'll keep being in debt to my eye balls'.

Right, rant over, would love to make a complaint about the person on the phone, but I'm afraid that they'll ask me to pay it all back in one go.

    Sorry, had to yap.

    I'm away to make dinner.

    Day 5,

    Paid my £1 into HBOS.

My Ebay item is up to £16.55, well chuffed.

Nothing from amazon, but I might have the books listed on the wrong site, I'm seeing people talking about greenmet etc. What to do?

Also questioned by orange mobile bill today and they have messed up my tarriff and bill. So getting a credit of £26 off next mths bill plus an extra 200 mins a month for a year. Well chuffed.

Other than that there's nothing else, I am thinking of doing that texting thing to get extra spondoolies in.

    Till tmmw.

    Hi Lexie,

It sounds like you've turned a corner with your financial situation.

Why not look at the review website DooYoo for extra income. I did 40 reviews and got my first £50 cheque in December. Once you've set up your account and made a few friends - you must rate their reviews too and they will return the favour - you'll be well on your way.

Another idea if you like the 'luck of the draw' is the Sun Bingo website do a free game at 7pm every night for £100. You can log in at any time of the day and claim your tickets, they play them for you too so you don't even need to watch it.

Good luck with the debt busting, I'll be following and supporting you on your way. Feel free to query any of the above and I'll do my best to explain.

    Day 6,

    Hi Katyj10,

Thanks for joining me, I will definitely have a look into your suggestions.

Just about to do the £1 PAD.

Checked my ebay listing and it's up to £30!!! yikes, so pleased.

Met a friend and had coffee with her, we were in a shopping centre and she was asking me what I was buying, I said nothing as I didn't need anything. And she kept asking me why I wasn't buying anything and I kept saying cos I don't need anything. She admitted that she didn't need anything but wanted to spend money...I used to be like that with money, had to spend whatever i had, now I'm like where's the nearest ATM till I lodge it back in again!

Found another few items to list on ebay, so again as soon as paypal is set up properly will get into that.

Nothing else to tell, and ziggles 50, there is a thread somewhere on the forum on the texting thing, I'll try and dig it out for you.

Be good and thanks for being there on my journey.

    Hi Lexie Lou
Well done on the ebay things, I’m starting to worry that we’ll run out of things to sell, I have an annoying habit of opening the seal on presents like perfume and toiletries even though I know I won’t like them. I literally see myself doing it in slow motion!
I’ve just transferred most of my books from greenmetropolis to Amazon. At first Greenmet was great but then they didn’t increase postage with postal rises and I seem to have gone from selling several a week to one a month. The only thing that concerns me is that on Amazon the fiction books sell for hardly anything.
Can’t believe the comments you got from HBOS about the overdraft! I’m getting really sick of logging onto my bank online and seeing there is a £5k loan waiting just for me and don’t even get me started on the phonecalls I’m getting from them telling me about their VERY special deals just for me. I’m sick of asking them to take me off their calling list.

LeeSouthEast, how did you manage it? Especially those big chunks at the end? Very impressive.

    xx

Lots of overtime, no personal spending for 10 months and lots of willpower and spreadsheets :p

I'm hoping my new-found financial responsibility will continue for the rest of my days. Although I went out last night and spend £70 on a new year night out with a friend. But I needed it, I think. Had a great time, and lots of good vodka :rotfl:

    Hi,

LeeSouthEast, we all need wee nights out now and then, so don't beat yourself up too much.

Sazzle, can you not ask them to stop calling you? It's way too much temptation, well for me it would be...

I had hoped tmmw would be a NSD but need to fill the tank up with diesel, and have worked out it's cheaper to do it in one go than dribs and drabs.

Hi Lexie - I think it's ok to buy things like diesel and still call it a NSD. It's what you buy in the shop when you're paying for the diesel that count!!

Well done on resisting the urge to shop,.) it's hard when everyone else around is buying loads.
