I thought all of them said you needed to earn 20k so didn't even bother...will check now. Did you go for the 2year one?
EDIT: yes, 20k limit.
I know, I was looking forward to dropping down to 2 BT cards but I might try again in couple of months when we've moved.
Whoops I don't earn over 20k in a part-time job. I did do the pre-checking thing though and Barclaycard said I had an 80-90% chance of getting it.
I would advise you to apply before you move. They don't like to give out cards if you have only been at an address for a little while. That is why I am not confident of getting this card. We have only been at our address for 6 months.Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Where did you do the pre-check thing? Which card did you apply for? That's a high %, fingers crossed. Unfortunately, we're moving next week, and we don't really want to leave a forwarding address.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Gosh, didn't realise I've been off for 2 weeks!
Move has been done and dusted (mostly). It was bloomin' hard work though I tell you. Packed everything on Tuesday, except for things that we didn't have boxes for. Wednesday we got up half 7, then bf picked up the van 9ish. Ended up being 3 loads with tomato plants and other herbs that were outside in outside pots. As we have no garden, dropped tomato plants in a friends place near us in Bristol. Finished about midnight. All I can say, thank god for the garage, as most stuff just went straight there and saved us loads of time.
We both took Thursday off as well. I spent 2 hrs taking stuff from the garage to our second floor flat, basically everything that I could carry and also some stuff I struggled with. I was so knackered that day and was pleased to have Friday off as well when I stocked kitchen cupboards, bookcases and anything else I could. We didn't make up the bed or wardrobes as the carpet in our bedroom was due to be changed.
Bf went back to the old flat on Thursday, filled up rest of the holes, painted and hoovered. It took longer than expected but he did do a really good job bless him. Then he road back on the motorbike with the hoover in a big rucksack! It must of weighed at least 10k so don't know how he managed it!!
Also had a flexi day off this Wednesday as virgin guy and the carpet guys were due. Morning was lovely and sunny but couldn't go out as waiting for the tradesmen. It all went smoothly but about 1pm when the carpet guys had finished, the heavens opened and it hardly stopped raining all afternoon so I was housebound! But it was good to sleep in the bed last night rather than just on the mattress.
Today will be the first proper commute as well, meaning both ways in the same day as on Monday night after training I stayed with a friend and went back home on Tuesday night. Not on my motorbike yet so have been cycling 3miles to the station Bristol end and then about a mile the other end. It's a lot 'hillier' in Bristol though. It's honestly not that bad but I am feeling it atm as not done that much cycling recently.
Sorry for long post but one more good thing has happened to us. When I was at my friends on Monday night we chatted about this and that and I mentioned our sofas weren't really that nice but that they'd been free and not much we could do about it. So today she rings me and offers us a 3 seater leather sofa and a big fabric armchair - for free!!! So happy!DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Thanks SH!
Have next week completely off as my sister's arriving on Sunday night. She's here till Friday night when she takes the train back to Stansted with an overnight stay at a B&B before early morning flight. Really looking forward to that.
Bf's birthday is on Tuesday and I've booked us to go GoApe in Forest of Dean. Not sure what I'm getting him otherwise but will cook a nice meal in the evening.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Bet you are delighted to be settled into the new place! Now you can concentrate on the job hunting and I bet the new address will make a huge difference. How are you enjoying living in Bristol?
And well done on the couches!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi CMD.
Yes, it's really nice in the new place though we still need to find places for stuff and it's not quite ready yet as we couldn't do everthing due to the carpets being changed. But it's getting there and we need to get the little bedroom sorted before my sister comes on Sunday night so that would be almost everything done then. I like the large living room and separate dining area and our bedroom is large and bright.
Haven't had a chance to get to know Bristol at all yet. The first weekend (last weekend) we came to Cardiff on Saturday for the rugby and then Sunday went to see my mates in a softball tournament in Bristol. But the area where we live seems nice enough. Co-op is the nearest shop and it's so expensive compared to tesco's, it's unbelievable, really resent having to shop there.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

I find Co-op very expensive as well. Tesco is defo the cheapest. Sainsbury's is nearest us and isn't too bad, but I have to say I love Waitrose!!! Expensive tastes - no wonder I am in debt!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947
