22 Months to DF-Day - The Race is On!

Well, Wednesday nights game was cancelled due to weather. Haven't really done much this week at all. But have made plans. Doing a list "32 things before I'm 33", only 119 days to go so might have to change some of them, like ' buy a sewing machine'. Will share later.
Have now definitely decided to stay input and have also decided to stay in the flat we're now. Bf has booked his theory and CBT tests for getting a bike and hopefully it's all sorted by the end of August.
We did go and see a one bedroom flat with a garden which was really lovely and cute and the garden would've been great for all the bike, peddle and motorpowered but it was decided not to go for it in the end cos the space we have at the moment is so spacious and nice.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Breaking internet silence.
And how things can change in couple of weeks...
Went to Bristol last Wednesday to see Russell Howard and both of us really liked the city centre. And then we decided that we would move there (who were we kidding anyway?). Should've just kept to the plan though I had no luck with jobs. Anyway, this Saturday gone bf went to see a flat with a garage but no garden. He thought it was great and we got it! So, moving date is 16th of August! Crikey, I can't believe it is actually going to happen now. I will have to commute until I find a job but that's fair enough as bf has been doing it for the last 9months. And we're still planning to buy the bike and it doesn't really matter which one is commuting on it.
I took today off and have been job hunting. Fingers crossed something grabs soon.
Unfortunately I'm now committed to the national league season with my volleyball club and just can't let them down as we're struggling for players anyway. But who knows what will happen in the long run and at least training is only once a week. And most of the 'away' games are in Bristol so my 'away' games will really be in Cardiff.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Hi Tir,
Great news. I am delighted to hear that you are moving to Bristol. It will give you a new lease of life and I think it will be easier to get a job once they see a Bristol address. I have never been to Bristol but have heard great things about it as a cityTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Hi CMD and thanks.
I also think you're absolutely right about the address thing. Yesterday I got yet another call from an agency who'd seen my CV but it was a Cardiff agency. So hoping I'll have more luck now that I can put a Bristol address on my CV. Fingers crossed...DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

I certainly have always found that I get more luck when I have an address in the actual city.
So are you very excited? Does your ex know you are moving away or are you still in contact with him anymore?Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

I am excited but at the same time bit apprehensive and before we start moving, not really believing it's true if you know what I mean.
I think he knows we've been thinking of moving and yes, I still keep in touch occasionally. I'll probably put something on facebook soon so he'll know then.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Argh, would you believe it, I seem to have yet another cold!!!! Not too bad though but just annoying. I've never ever ever have been this 'sickly' in my life and it is so frustrating. Especially when I'm planning on taking advantage of council's employee active card for month or two before I get a job in Bristol. It's £19.45 a month, non contract and includes pretty much everything. As I'm still not up to my usual fitness regime, I think this will be a perfect way trying to get fit again.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Hello all.
Have gone with the employee active card as you're not tied up to it. Was planning to go to activate it today lunchtime and go for a swim but then realised the place I'm going to doesn't have a pool doh! Have booked my gym induction for tomorrow though not planning to use it much but might sometimes be at a loose end and then it's good to have. Planning mostly to use the classes and pools; need to go about 5 times a month to make it worth while but planning minimum of 3 visits a week.
Oh, we bought a bike yesterday!SV 650. Had a mate try it for us cos bf hasn't passed his test yet and I haven't ridden for about 6 years, though today I realised it was more like 7/8!!! So am bit 'scared' at the moment. I know I'll be fine once I get to try it somewhere quiet, like a big car park and get used to it again. It is bit bigger than my old one but I've ridden 600cc before. Better be ok cos in about 3weeks time I have to start commuting on it! Eeeek!

Hi SH.
It has indeed!Unfortunately I seem to be too busy to be concentrating on job hunting which is not very good, but things should calm down in couple of weeks time. And at least I have the bike to commute on now.
Anyway, bit of advise please. I don't really want to tell people in the office that I'm moving to Bristol. I've told one who's also my friend (my ex line manager from last place) but he's not my line manager anymore. I don't really need to tell anyone except HR surely? I just don't want people starting to ask if I'm job hunting there and then if it takes longer to get a job again I just can't deal with people asking me how it's going. What do you think?DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
