Had an NSD today - was quite prepared to go to supermarket and get some supplies but after umming and awwing with hubby, decided to stay in the warm and not spend half an hour getting the snow off the car and getting it warm. Spent the day 'pottering' i.e. not doing much at all. He did some ironing, I did some decluttering and prepared lunch. Had a doze this afternoon as I had a headache. By the time I got up it was nearly 5pm so decided to have fish fingers, chips and beans for dinner! Tomorrow I WILL make a 'proper dinner' - have got a gammon joint out of the freezer and will have that will jacket spuds, macaroni cheese, carrots, sweetcorn, peas and tomatoes. We seem to have been living on junk food for the past couple of days so it will be good to have some veg again.
Might venture out tomorrow if it's not too bad on the roads...Keep Calm and Carry On Kondoing

Have spent £62 / £350 so far - shopped yesterday to make sure we had enough to tide us over for a while. Mr T's had no ordinary milk, so had to buy organic! I hate driving in this weather, am quite content to sit with my eyes closed as DH attempt to move the car in a straight line!Resolution:

Hello all, happy to be reporting that we haven't spent anything on food since shopping on Monday. Had spag bol with Sainsburys basic pasta sauce for tea last night...was very good considering the price was so low!!!!
Should need to get milk by tomorrow. Husband to go to Manchester on Sunday and stay till Tues so I will try and live off what is in cupboards and freezer........soup, spag bol etc etc and do a little shop for the rest of next week. He will be eating on the company so no spending for him!!!!
Now just a wee question.........how do you get the info down the bottom on your posts such as I have spent £36.25 out of the £160 budget so far.........is this your signature??? tried to go into user cp at top of page....not sure if I have managed it??? help!!!GC = £150.58/£2500 -

Topped up on fresh fruits today as I feel I need to eat more fruits atm with the cold and mouth ulcers. Also bought ASDA ground coffee, which has turned out to be very nice indeed, and we thought we were coffee snobs!
So spent £10.98, which pushes the total spent this month so far to £58.450 -
Yesterday was an NSD which is a nice way to start the challenge. I'm refusing to go out at the moment - it's cold, it's icy and my car needs fed - so it's easy not to spend money. Will be doing on online shop for delivery Tuesday today but it's really the cats who need things rather than me!Household: Laura + William-cat

Morning all! Another frrrrrreezing cold day for us all!! :snow_laug
Spent another £8.02 yesterday, mainly in the local shops to stock up on some basics just in case... Nothing really to be proud of except for a £1 bottle of beer for the bean and beer casserole (with dumplings) I made last night. Was really yummy, the kind of comfort food that sticks to your ribs and keeps you warm! OH was very pleased as I only needed 250ml for the casserole, so he enjoyed the rest!
Need to try and get to grips with a proper meal planner now as the cupboard is getting bare, but I don't want to spend loads on food! Maybe that can be my challenge for today?
Keep warm and safe everyone, the weekend is nearly here!! :j

Did have a spend at hospital yesterday. Forgot about parking and stuff to read, so £8.50 to add to total. Although this isn't strictly GC spends I don't have a category to cover these sort of spends so need to rejig budget again for a small hospital related expenses fund. Figured if I include it in Jan's GC it will make me more aware and therefore I'll spend less!
Operation went well and I'm off now to pick DS up as Docs say he can come home this morning :T Thanks to everyone for the good wishes. I'm sure all the positive vibes helped as he sailed through the recovery and has been really well inspite of being in theatre for 3and a 1/2 hours!
I'll catch up with all the posts later:xmastree:Merry Christmas0
