Today was my first day of spending since 31st December. I popped to Sommerfields as thats where our post office is based and picked up 2 Oats so Simple on at £1.09, as DGS who is only one loves this, and they had special K on at £2.00, so spend in there was £4.18, and then had rolls from the bakers 6 @27p each =£1.62 so total spent today is £5.80. Have done my Tesco online shop for delivery on Friday, so will have to add that then, but still looking good for the month, as not really needing any cleaning/kitchenware stuff this month so have the spare £30 I had budgeted for thatEvery days a School day!0

Thanks guys for the comments - that made me laugh about the hay!!!
I'm quite tempted just to go down the beach and cut a huge wad of grass and dry it out in the airing cupboard or something!! She only eats it anyway. And it's just to keep her warm in her indoors (shed) hutch.
She doesn't like straw, makes her 'funny'.
Tonights was another successful meal, where we were so full afterwards, that all anyone wanted was one thing each from the never ending selection box (cept me cos I'm trying to be good!!).
Can I just say though, that my family despair of pasta bolognaise never finishing - I've now added the pasta to the sauce and there's enough left for another 2 meals - all out of one teensy whoopsie pack of pork mince!!!
I still need to get some ideas for next weeks meals, sort of what should I buy in the shopping etc. to add to what I already have.0 -
Skaps, Lidl and Aldi have their own websites. The lidl one is especially good as you input you postcode and it tells you the offers at your local store. Hi everyone
Had to do a grocery shop yesterday as kids back at school and me back at work today. Spent £43.02 of my budget so was well pleased. Had planned to bring it in for under £40.00 but had to take DDs with me and they ask so nicely!!(sucker that I am). Another NSD today so am now on 3 out of the planned 14. Doesn't it feel good just being in control of things for a change? Good Luck.0 -
Hi All, I think I may have missed the start date for this month....did it start on 30/12/2009????
Well I have to say I just started today...£160 is the budget for 4 weeks alot less that what we normally spend.
Went to Sainburys and bought quite alot of the basics range as posted in this forum, we spent in total £36.26 for the week, we didnt need any cleaning stuff and we came in this week on budget. I have worked out meal plans for the next 7 days. I am going to try a new recipe that I found on here...can't remember who posted it but sausage and bean pie is on the menu for tomorrow night made with basics sausages, basics mash but heinz beans. husband won't compromise on the beans!!!!
So will hopefully have a no spend day tomorrow....apart from I need to post a parcel so I guess that counts.
Look forward to keeping up with this!!!GC = £150.58/£2500 -
This month I am aiming for a budget of €500.
I made a good start too this weekend - the weekly shop was done in Mr. D. We got a whole roast duck for Sunday roast (€9.99 as opposed to €11.99 for a hoi sin sauce and pancakes included version), a large ham fillet for €13 (which I intend to cut into 3 and freeze 2), and lots of chicken as we had none left in freezer, and 2 packs of chicken gougons for DD's dinners for only €2.99 each. So we ended up with a till amount of €122.74 - but I only needed 2 more stamps to fill a card (with the final stamp given free), so it actually only cost me €28.74 for the entire shop.
And we have enough for the next 2 weeks in terms of meat etc, so only a milk, bread and veggies shop next weekend!!GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897
GC 2011:Overall Target: €6,000/ €5,442 by October
Back on the wagon again in 2014
Apr €587.82/€550 May €453.31 /€5500 -
