I got some of it from John Lewis at £10.90 a metre, some from Doughtys online that worked out about £11.50 ish a metre and also got some for £10.50 a metre from a wee website that I found online that dont currently charge P&P (which always helps) but cant remember the name of it at the mo. Ive never been fussed about Amy Butler before but currently going through a bit of a Butler fetish.
I am thinking of going to Canterbury tomorrow. I will try not to spend too much!

Working now Florence they look great :)

Your posties all sound really nice! Ours hates me because I constantly have parcels coming and he has to carry them he used to smile or wave when he saw me but now he ignores me and when he sees me out the house on his rounds he stops to give me my parcels so he doesn't have to keep carrying them. To be fair it doesn't help that he is scared of the dog and she barks like mad when he comes..

Plan for today is to make the binding for the quilt start binding it and then sort out some embroidery to take away with me this weekend :)

Does anyone know of any nice patterns for small satchel/saddle bag type things. I want to make a small bag to take away rather than one of my many HUGE handbags.

I have just recieved my copy of The Bag Making Bible. Something else to help me on my way. Should be sewing but I am not! Better get my act together DGD is due home very soon.
I hve been doing my daughters house instead.! So I now have a complete car full of washing to do instead!! While trawling the web I came across Bari J, she has some lovely fabrics. Trying to find a uk distributor for them. Waiting for the European people to get back to me.

Love them, as always. May I ask what you used for the hair on the first doll?

    Loving everyone's recent makes.

Today I purchased my first MODA scrap bag in 'light' coloring. I have no idea what I will get, will have to wait for it to arrive.

Bought a hat maker from a charity shop, that is made on a circular plastic loom...have no idea what I am doing, the instructions are not the clearest (or perhaps it is just me being a bit daft) I'd ask for help but I have no idea how to describe it clearly. Circle shaped loom with 'prongs'. You wrap the wool around each prong until each prong is circled two times. Then you loop the first 'stitch' over the top of the first prong that you started on...and it all goes wrong! (I have no idea if you are meant to loop/stitch over ALL of the prongs or just the first one before you start the process all over again)

The wool is supposed to come out of the bottom of the circle in a tube shape. Again, this wasn't happening when I tried it :rotfl:

(If anyone knows what I am talking, you are amazing!)

Sounds like a knitting loom to me... Have a look at this website, http://www.loomroom.com/knitting-looms.html it has some instructional videos on it!

    Cheers

Not sure if you could alter this one slightly to put a buckle fastener on it. http://mmmcrafts.blogspot.com/2009/06/basic-messenger-bag.html

I've used this pattern and it's easy to follow.

I used a chunky yarn which I unravelled into strands for the curly effect.
