HMO - your quilts are great. Must motivate myself to do more to mine, once I've finished my son's bedroom and running up and down to Dorset every weekend.
MissPixie - your makes look lovely, I'm sure the children at the wedding will have a fantastic time. You are very thoughtful. Sorry to be thick but what are taggies ussed for?
Bought some more material whilst I was away at the weekend, some black day of the dead, to make myself "another" bag. Also saw some lovely Liberty material only £9.95 a metre and some scotty dog material which I think is Clarke & Clarke, also £9.95 a metre (saw it elsewhere for £16). really like the fabric but not sure what I could make other than bags. Sorry I'm not very experienced or imaginative.
Will be in the same place next week so all ideas greatfully accepted. Thinking of trying to sell a few bits but don't really know if this is too dear for things to sell - even what to sell. As you can see I'm confused. :undecidedCross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

i am making them for two girls i know who are due babies in sept and oct, i thought they would do either for pram quilts for the winter or just as floor quilts for the babies to lie on as they get bigger.0 -
Hello, again, ladies. I'm after some help please. My son wants me to make the curtains for his bedroom, which isn't a problem, I've made "normal" curtains before. However he wants ring top curtains made from this - http://www.fabric-online.co.uk/media/E001_Leopard_XL.jpg. I've not sewn this sort of fabric before or made ring top curtains.
I've googled and know that I can get ring top curtain tape and the rings to push on so tha doesn't appear to be a problem. My question is how much fabric I'll need and whether I need any fullness in the curtains with this fabric.
The window measures drop 140cm and width 200cm. As the material is 150cm wide I thought I could use the width of the material as the drop. Do you think this would work? Would I then need 1.5 times the width of the window in material? So should i buy 3 metres of material and use 1.5 metres in each curtain? or should I use the material the correct way round with one width of material for each curtain?
Having asked the questions above I don't think it actually makes a difference to the amount of material I need.
Any help very gratefully received.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

what type of fabric is it? as you say it isnt really going to make much difference to the amount you need to buy, whatever way you hang it
ringtop curtains dont look that good on short windows, theyre much better suited on floor to ceiling curtains - but thats just my personal preference - they also tend to be used on plain fabric as the rings are the focal point/decoration. tbh you would loose the effect in that print, and why pay extra for ring tape and covers, if just plain header tape at a fraction of the cost works just as well
