I got some of it from John Lewis at £10.90 a metre, some from Doughtys online that worked out about £11.50 ish a metre and also got some for £10.50 a metre from a wee website that I found online that dont currently charge P&P (which always helps) but cant remember the name of it at the mo. Ive never been fussed about Amy Butler before but currently going through a bit of a Butler fetish.0 -
I find some of Amy Butler's fabric really nice but others are really garish and urgh!
I finished quilting my quilt but I sat for 4 hours straight to get it done after already doing a few hours earlier and now I have back spasms! ouch ouch ouchGetting married Wednesday 24th August 2011!

Loving everyone's recent makes.
Today I purchased my first MODA scrap bag in 'light' coloring. I have no idea what I will get, will have to wait for it to arrive.
Bought a hat maker from a charity shop, that is made on a circular plastic loom...have no idea what I am doing, the instructions are not the clearest (or perhaps it is just me being a bit daft) I'd ask for help but I have no idea how to describe it clearly. Circle shaped loom with 'prongs'. You wrap the wool around each prong until each prong is circled two times. Then you loop the first 'stitch' over the top of the first prong that you started on...and it all goes wrong! (I have no idea if you are meant to loop/stitch over ALL of the prongs or just the first one before you start the process all over again)
The wool is supposed to come out of the bottom of the circle in a tube shape. Again, this wasn't happening when I tried it :rotfl:
(If anyone knows what I am talking, you are amazing!)0 -

Thanks for the info Handsewn. x
This made me laugh, our household is also now on first name terms...our mail man even gives our dog biscuits!
In fact, one of the delivery men likes to tell my mother every little detail about what is annoying him that day, she always stands there and just smiles and nods, like she understands all about the perils of being a delivery man. (usually too many parcels not filled out properly, losing stickers/information/details/pens, the too hot/too cold weather, ...you get the idea!)0 -

It sounds a bit like French Knitting to me. Is that what you mean?0 -
