Can I ask what material you made your bunny out of shes a treasure - well done.
I bought a small piece of towelling material but now on reflection I don't know why I didn't use an old towel and spend the money on a new one for us. It would have been a thicker fabric to work with. Mine was quite thin and I'm not sure how long it will hold the stiching. It also made a lot of mess everywhere when cutting it. It didn't help that the dog kept running off with it either.
I want to make the lamb from the book next and might try using fleece fabric this time round.

Thought you guys might be interested in this offer http://www.craftyclub.net/UK/

3 issues of Sew magazine for £3 (I've looked through the last 3 pages & couldnt see if anyone has put it up, apologise if they have.

I bought an issue of it a couple of months ago as I liked the Free pattern that came with it and found it a really good mag.

Normally £5.99 and comes with a free pattern (they say its worth £7) each issue. Other projects inside to try out, clear instructions that are accessible for both beginners and more advanced.

I know this sounds like a sale spiel but I dont work for them, just thought it was a fab idea.

Now I'm off to look back on this thread at what you gals have been upto and save some project ideas :D

Thanks for this. Just subscribed for mine. Was going to buy it tonight after my sewing class finished (was £5.99) then vaguely remembered something on here about it! Nice one!! Definately £3 well spent. Cheers again! :D

  • It's my birthday next month. i'm thinking about asking OH to get me this

    http://shop.stitchclub.co.uk/make-a-set-of-zip-cases-200-p.asp

I thought it would be good to learn how to do zips, although including postage it makes it quite expensive for what it is. i suppose I'd be able to use the instructions again! What do you more experienced people think?

I also thought this was nice and you get material to make the bag on the front cover. It does have mixed reviews though

    Any other suggestions? :A

    flossie, she's totally adorable! bravo!
ok, here it is..i finished my daughters quilt today, and i've already asked my dad to get me a walking foot for my sewing machine for my birthday!LOL, putting the binding on was a bit tricky..the sqaures i hand quilted and i finished off the binding (edge) by hand on the back side of it..i have enough fabric left for another one too!!

posativelymummy - the quilt is beautiful! did you follow a pattern from a book? were the different fabrics in a pack from the designer? i've got a walking foot and it's really useful, i'd recomend one to anyone dealing with more than 2 layers or working with fabrics of different weight.

kandipandi - they are lovely! you shame me as i'm only making things for me or friends at the moment. and thank you, i'd looked at the instructions that had been posted and couldnt figure them out. they dont seem as tricky now you've explained them.

then deciced to turn him into something more...

    and here he is:

ok, so my shaping has a long way to go... i did want him to only have a rough shape, but this is a little too rough, especially by his neck and ears, but to be honest i couldnt be bothered to unpick him! oh well. he's cute enough for me!

And afterall, love is about loving their imperfections aswell! ;)
