I am making a doll as a leaving present for my Daughter's colleague. The doll is finished but I am fiddling about trying to make a blazer for it.

    Hi Everyone
Just to let you know that I ended up taking the brother machine bck and went with the Bush that was half price.
I went to the rag mrket in Brum and bought enough fabric to make 30 bandanas my husband needed for his class for their school play. It is working brillantly. I do need to work on my skills on sewing a straight line though!!
    Thanks Melissa

I made these Ballerina Cats out of calico painted with black acrylic paint. I gave them to two of my Granddaughters. I have six children and eight Grandchildren.

Hiya :) I'm in love with this Vogue pattern and am thinking of making one myself for a party I have to go to! It's really simple from the front but I love the bow at the back and apparently it's easy to make. If you google it there are some people that have made it and theirs look great!

If you're looking for more of a long ballgown then all of the big 4 (vogue, simplicity, mccalls and butterick) all have ballgown patterns, Jaycotts have a good selection on their website.

the sewingpatternreview site is good. To search for a pattern you need to go into the sewing pattern review gallery, then you can search by brand and pattern number. You can also search by style/type of pattern

    your pattern is reviewed here

Thanks :) I've reviewed a few patterns on the site myself actually!

Is the oil cloth difficult to sew?

It's not difficult to sew but you need a teflon foot for the machine :D you can get away with using an ordinary foot but it could stick or you can put some tape on it and pull it off after.
Teflon feet are reasonable price on Ebay :D
Love the dancing cats :T I have a few doll patterns as I was going to make some for my DGD's but like irishgirl said there are not enough hours in the day :o

Im glad you sorted your machine prob rsdiscos :D your sewing lines will get better with practice :D I still have the odd wonky ones :rotfl:and it's all part of the handmade look :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

Love the dolls, but still dont have the time.
Today I have a few bits to finish off, trimming some towels and some aprons I had cut out can be done as the tape has arrived.
I then need to make some wallets to match the bags that I had done, (or tone in with), so that I can fullfill the order of 10 sets. Then I want to make some to take to the second shop and see if she is interested still.
Right time to go to Nursery and DGD is still in her PJ's
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
