Great idea....may be best to use a darker colour for the towel sides than beige - I can see black finger prints on them straight away.

Judging by my apron, red, green, brown...brilliant idea and I'd definitely wash the apron more if it had towelling bits:)

hi all not been on for months as been busy moving etc so now trying to catch up!!
i'm going to a ball in september and would like to make my own dress does any1 know of any good patterns????????

Hiya :) I'm in love with this Vogue pattern and am thinking of making one myself for a party I have to go to! It's really simple from the front but I love the bow at the back and apparently it's easy to make. If you google it there are some people that have made it and theirs look great!

If you're looking for more of a long ballgown then all of the big 4 (vogue, simplicity, mccalls and butterick) all have ballgown patterns, Jaycotts have a good selection on their website.

That looks fantastic. For you, not for me though - I had a big operation 5 years ago and I've got scars all across my back. My shark bites ;)

I went to a BBQ on Saturday and the chef was wearing one of these.

Very handy for wiping sticky fingers :rotfl:

I thought they would be quite easy to make. I have my daughter's old black aprons from her waitressing days and thought I could get some cheap towels for the sides. What do you think?

i think that would work well.

Is the oil cloth difficult to sew?
