I don't only sew dolls. I made this apron for my Granddaughter, I try to give hand crafted presents whenever possible.

I love your apron and dolls Florenceem :T

I went to the CS this morning and just inside the door was a brand new(still wrapped) Ikea tabletop ironing board for £1.95 so of cause I had to get it :D also got a very large piece of beige and white spot oilcloth for 1.25 :D

I had to try and make my DS a Sherlock Holmes outfit for his play tomorrow, little begger only told me last night  I managed to buy a mans check shirt from the CS and I have added a cape to the top and shortened the sleeves for him, I covered one of his old baseball caps with the same fabric and made a (sort of) deerstalker hat :o
If I had been given more warning it could have been a lot better but as it is he will have to put up with it :rotfl: that will teach him to let me know sooner :(
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

I went to a BBQ on Saturday and the chef was wearing one of these.

Very handy for wiping sticky fingers :rotfl:

I thought they would be quite easy to make. I have my daughter's old black aprons from her waitressing days and thought I could get some cheap towels for the sides. What do you think?

What a great idea :T I keep meaning to make a little towel to keep near my sink, it is a small towel and some cotton sewn on the top into a loop so you can fasten it over a rail :D Ive seen a tutorial somewhere but my fav list is so long it will take forever to find it now so will look after work :o

Didnt do any sewing today went to Ikea to get the castors table top etc to make my own cutting table as I cant cope anymore with the mess in my kitchen:rotfl:

Gonna get stuck into the craft room tomorrow and hopefully get it finished the day after.

Kids broke up for the summer here two weeks ago, and its great no set times for 9 weeks!!
I don't live near an Ikea so rarely get to visit one.

Great idea....may be best to use a darker colour for the towel sides than beige - I can see black finger prints on them straight away.

What will you use the oilcloth for?

It's ideal for make-up bags or tote bags :D

Hi cuddles123 , I just use patterns I buy as epatterns. The hair is wavy as I have uncurled the yarn strands.

    Thank you ;)
Can you point me in the direction of the patterns please?

This is my excuse for attempts at a Rag Doll

Evening. No sewing still. Showed one of the women my bags after Nursery, and she is definitely after 4 of each. And was happy for me to make the colours choice etc for her. Bonus. Means more use of the stash, and no shopping. She is also willing to take some of my stuff and show it around and possibly sell it for me. So another way to get my work out there. So still working forwards.
DGD has fallen asleep in her bed while I was outside cutting the lawn. Not sure whether to wake her up now, and give her some tea. Or to leave it and see if she wakes up. Double edged. I can get into the sewing room now though. mmmm
The dolls etc are all great makes. I have so many ideas, patterns and things that i want to dabble with, but I am looking at the things that take the least time to maximise the amount of makes I can do. And eventually the amount of sales/profit. Trying to become business minded and not hobby minded.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
