Great strawberry.
Does anyone have a picture or a link to this Prima Door Chicken. I'm intrigued.
I'm in the process of upcycling one of my sons plain black School sweatshirts. It's turning into a World of Warcraft Horde messenger bag for a friend to keep embroidery projects in.
I can use my sewing machine fine, but I'm not good at getting it neat or in a straight line."A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain." Mark Twain0 -
I'm going to join in if that's OK - I keep meaning to do more sewing and as I wetn a bit crazy and bought TONNES (well about 3kg!) of fabric today, motivation and encouragement would be very useful...
I got a book called Twinkle Sews for Christmas which has some gorgeous patterns in to print out, stick together and sew, so I'll start there, make a mess and go back to soemthing simpler with my tail between my legs :-)0 -
Is it ok if I try join in please?
I bought myself a sewing machine a while back but have not yet used it. I saw positivelymummy's thread last year with her bags that she made and that was what inspired me to finally purchase a sewing machine.
I hopefully want to make some presents for 2010 and would also love to start recycling some old clothes into new ones.
Any tips would be greatfully received.0 -
I was bought a brand new spanking Brother XL 2620 for Christmas - as a surprise gift! I now need to know what the heck to do with it! I can thread it and can wind a bobbin. I cannot sew straight yet haha! So I'm in to learn a few things!
i think this is the same one i recieved this christmas too, or was it 2125? cant remember now (its upstairs) ive managed to thread and wind the bobbin - but i cant get the pressure right:mad: the stitches just pop striaght out!
when i eventually get this sorted i am wanting to make a patchwork cover for my dd's bed using her old clothes i would also like to make my son a bed cover of some kind too.
eventually id like to master the art of making bags, but tbh thatll probaly b years away!0 -
ooh I'm going to join too if I may.
I have decided to try and make as many Christmas pressies as possible for 2010, so far I have decided to make.
Doorstops
morsbags
scented heart sachets
mini hand warmers
wheat bags
fabric mice (to be used as pin cushions)
fabric covered hangers
sented sachets to be used as a coaster so when a hot drink is put on it it releases a scent (not quite sure how i'll do this yet!)
toy dolls/angels.
I also want to knit a teddy bear (never knitted before so should be fun)
Heck thats a lot, better get cracking lol, look forward to seeing everyones projects.

Hippychick....concerning the scented coasters I just popped in some dried Tesco mixed spice between the wadding and fabric...and it worked a treat0

Are they big enough for some nice cushion covers? or how about tissue box holders or a small bag. Could they go together to make a patchwork quilt or cushion?
