I took the overlocker to the nursery yesterday and with the help of 4 or 5 other mums cutting out my patterns, and with my sewing, we churned out, 49 elves tunics and 47 belts (ran out of material for the belts). My arm is practically useless today. I originally thought we were going to make about 20 or so outfits, when they said that they needed around 50 I thought that it would be impossible to do. But I didnt stop sewing from 9.15 till 2.45!
I didnt stop for anything except to go to the loo!.
The cutting out Mums left at 11.45ish and then two others stopped until, 12, and one stopped to tidy up around for a bit longer. But the last bit I was all on my own just making the belts, after I had finished sewing all the costumes together. What a marathon.
When they take a photo of the kids in the outfits I hope to get a piccy too.!

Sharon I will come tidy it for you! I love tidying and organising I have spent ages recently making the most of the space in my craft room it makes me quite sad to think I only have it for a few more months and then we will move and I will leave it all behind.

Going to get back into the sewing mojo today and get lots done hopefully.

@ Pootleflump.... sorry my ebay box is just the old wash basket I shove everything in which needs to be listed. The theory is that I keep my house tidier that way (it hasn't happened yet :o).
Irishgirl, busy day ahead of you then! Lovely craft room though. Quite jealous. Oh, just looked out of the window and it's raining. Shucks. Oh well, can't do a full load of washing anyway.

Wow that's some serious craft room! I love all your boxes and jars and how you've got your rolls of paper and cellophane on the wall.
I'm a really untidy person but I too would love to come round and tidy it up for you. It might take a while because I'd have to go through every little thing though!

Mooloo, sounds like you worked really hard yesterday, I hope you haven't done too much.

I am good at organising things but no good at tidying up after myself!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

My dd wants to do a craft fair and said she will tidy up the craft room help me to cut out etc and pack them all and do the craft fair herself to help me to raise funds for her deposit for the halls for uni which is sweet of her as I don't have the confidence to do a craft fair.

My DD sold 7 make up bags in space of 24 hours! and has orders for more, and I said it can all go towards her uni funds cos i am totally freaking out at how much it is gonna cost me to put her thru uni!

Yes I am suffering for it today, and doubt I will be sewing for the rest of the week!.
I think I was on automatic pilot! It was just keep zipping them through the overlocker, and give me the next one. They cut them out, and I just sewed and sewed.!
Becuase of my health problems I am suffering rather a lot, it was an effort to sew the last few hours of the stint. But the Carnival is this weekend, so it had to be done. I have no idea what they are doing about the hats, and I think the collars have gone by the wayside as the Nursery proprieter is off on holiday to sunny clims today, and will not be around.
I have told them that the Christmas needs to be done earlier, and more organised.
I have snowflakes and Angels to make ready. They always need Snowflakes and angels apparantly. So I shall have to get as much White fabrics, old sheets etc that i can muster up between now and the festive season!. I dont ever want to be sitting at the overlocker for nearly 6 hours straight again. I think I know how the people in sweatshops feel like!!! Boring sewing just the same thing all the time. (Only difference was that some had to have extra seams to join pieces of fabric together, either cos they cut them out by mistake, or because of the shape of the fabric. Some cut out a few pillowslips and they only needed the sides sewing. But they will not look quite as good as the others. ! Oh well, I earned a free session for DGD at Nursery, and they gave me a bottle of wine too! :D
