Ailsb - I love your blocks, they look very neat and precise. The bottom one would make a lovely cushion cover.

I have nearly finished the quilt I am making, just need to hand sew the binding this evening. I cut out another one this afternoon but cant make a start this week on it as OH is on nights again. Have brought down my cutting mat and rotary cutter though as I have enough fabric for another three quilts so might get them cut out too ready for sewing up.

You have been busy Rufus :D

My headache has gone at last so I have just put together a 1hour bag, takes me 2 though :rotfl:
I had some bright flower fabric left over from doing my 1st Amelie bag so I used that and lined it with some pale green fabric Ive had for ages.
I need to use up some of my fabric stash so the next one I am going to do is another buttercup bag :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

it rolls and stitch the hems at the same time and very narrow and neat too!! i bought all 3 feet for £11.80 including the P&P from an ebay seller so I was well pleased
*jealous* :D. Would love the link for the gathering foot and the hemming foot. Have now seen the link for the hemming foot so have clicked but not looked yet.

I'm back. I've done all the housework I'm doing today. The living room is polished, hoovered and tidy, the kitchen looks great, and as for the dining room - well the door is closed on that room. What the eye doesn't see and all that!!!

Inspired by Kaz's great photo of her quilt I thought I would share a picture of the blocks I have completed so far.

Unfortunately the single one at the bottom wont be going into the quilt as I hadn't realised the blocks were set as diamonds and this one has a French Horn in the middle. May have to turn this into a cushion cover.

Anyway I'm popping off again now. Going to try to make a bag to carry my netbook in when we go on holiday. We have a "real" bag for it but I want something that doesn't look as if it is carrying a netbook. Got a nice little girls skirt from CS yesterday and have unpicked it for the material.

Will let you know how I'm getting on later.
Wow, very impressed. Isn't it funny looking at the same blocks you've done but in different colours? I love them, they're very neat. I'm not sure what you mean by the blocks being set as diamonds, I thought they were set as squares? Or do you mean that the french horn is sitting wrong within the block? Confused :o and very envious of your blocks :). Really feeling the need now to adjust the squares in two of the blocks because you can see it's a star in yours and I feel the colours drown out the star in mine.

Shame you can't get much sewing done, but at least you can prepare by getting lots of cutting done in the meantime. I'm lucky, I sleep like the dead when I've been on nights. I even slept through my mobile phone ringing twice today and it was by my head as an alarm clock :o :rotfl:.
I have done lots of housework today so when I have done my errands tomorrow, will have no qualms about sitting down and playing with fabric.
Not sure if I said but I was unable to get back to the charity shop until Saturday. They only had single blankets left then so I bought 3 of them. The last was a bit grim with a fag burn in it so I left that. They are washed and hanging over the bannisters to [STRIKE]sit forever more[/STRIKE] dry out.

WRT ebaying; I know it takes forever to list stuff and you don't want to lose money on it. A tip I heard was that you could list items on ebay and delay the start time of them (for quite some time I believe). This enables you to keep going in and altering the description if you need to do it in dribs and drabs. This feature has a fee on it but the beauty of it is: you list everything in your own time. Put it on the longest delay you can and keep stretching the delay. Next free listing day you have your auctions already set out and just list there and then. The fee for delaying the auction is not applied, you are able to upload all of your auctions very quickly thus keeping your weekend day free and having all auctions finishing very close together.
This could really take the pain out of listing for some of us because if you're anything like me, you probably come on here for at least long enough to list one item between flicking through other pages each day. Just think what you could get listed by stealth? :rotfl:.
A word of warning though..... You do need to keep delaying the start of the auction if it's a long time between free listing days otherwise they'll all go live and you'll have extra fees to pay  and might not even realise you've got auctions running :eek:.
    Cheerio :D

Cheers Kaz. I might try that next time. I just use turbo lister so they all go on at one time and you can set up templates for similar stuff so you really only have to do one then just tweak it.

    Ailsb your blocks are lush!

I think people have problems using turbo lister on free listing days though, that's why someone had suggested this as an alternative option. TBH, I have no idea really because I don't often sell on there and if I do, I have sat and listed for an entire weekend. I do now have an ebay box though so *in theory* I can start to list in advance. I really must do this because I have been working the last few free listing weekends and it wouldn't be beyond me to come home from work and click on them to go live before I went to bed or even after I got up :o.
I'm so full of good ideas for time saving etc but I end up trying to cram loads in or doing naff all :o

Wow 24 feet of workspace! Cant wait to see that!

I use turbolister as well, but when its free listing days you dont get the item free, only if you list directly onto Ebay. I am like Pootle though and just list mine at 99p then they are free anyway.

I finished off the quilt last night, need to get some nice photos done today if I can.
