Made this for poorly DD2, using this ~ http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/totoro she has a little felt tail at the back (and wonky ears lol). Will have to make from for DD1 now though!
Waiting on my fabric and felt to come so I can make my monkeys and some rag doll-esque bunnies for my DDs, also going to make some drawstring bags to keep my fabric bits in.

Forgot to say, take it easy today mooloo and well done for getting through that stint yesterday. I would expect more than 1 free session for DGD though as you have given up 6 hours straight and knocked your health for I don't know how long.
Not sure what I'm going to do today, I need to do some tidying and painting and sewing. The painting needs to be done after dark though because the light is too bright to see the patches. Maybe I should tidy my pit and work out from there?
Irishgirl, how's it going? Good idea for selling bits and bobs to fund your DD through uni. Perhaps she can take some items away with her too when she goes so that she can start selling them to others in halls?

Kaz, lol I thought an ebay box was some kind of computer programme that I hadnt heard of! I have an ebay bag which lives under the bed. I need to list it all too but the idea of having to makes me feel a bit sick!
Mooloo, well done on doing all those outfits in such a short space of time!

I took the overlocker to the nursery yesterday and with the help of 4 or 5 other mums cutting out my patterns, and with my sewing, we churned out, 49 elves tunics and 47 belts (ran out of material for the belts). My arm is practically useless today. I originally thought we were going to make about 20 or so outfits, when they said that they needed around 50 I thought that it would be impossible to do. But I didnt stop sewing from 9.15 till 2.45!
I didnt stop for anything except to go to the loo!.
The cutting out Mums left at 11.45ish and then two others stopped until, 12, and one stopped to tidy up around for a bit longer. But the last bit I was all on my own just making the belts, after I had finished sewing all the costumes together. What a marathon.
When they take a photo of the kids in the outfits I hope to get a piccy too.!

oh my word, i bet you were kn......d, well done i hope they appreciate all your work.

Well if you cannot see properly perhaps its best to abstain. I cannt sew today as the arm is difficult to move. Bit like frozen shoulder!
I am going to go and look at some of my sewing books, and get some ideas for the curtain scraps that I bought back from the marathon yesterday.

I didnt mind doing it, I just pushed a bit too hard, as they left it so late to be making things for a carnival at this weekend. They are not very special outfits, and I wouldnt want to put a label on them! But they will do the trick, and then the nursery can adapt them for other themes, like shepherds and kings, etc.
Thats why I have been asked to help with making the snowflakes and angels for Christmas time. When the arm is better I will start to make them, whenever I can find any white cottons/polycottons etc, thats cheap in the CS's.

The twins have been transported back home, and the driving nearly killed me! Thank god its an automatic and I dont have to change gear with my left hand, only indicate!

Cup of tea time, and book research time.

PS. The work room is a great space! Mine is in chaos already as I dont have enough storage at all. Perhaps I will find what I want soon. Meanwhile I have fabric in the bedroom, in boxes and drawers, in the downstairs cupboards, under my bed, and now piled high in the room thats now my work room. (DS's bedroom).

Think selling to fund the uni is a great idea. I may see if my BF's daughter wants to do that, on a commission basis, so I get enough to cover buying somemore fabrics from the CS's etc of course!
She is off to Leeds uni this year. But I am not sure how its financed, his son is in his 2nd year, about to start his 3rd year at Bournemouth uni. But they all work when they are home, and have been saving. I also think that they have sorted out some student loans as I doubt my BF could fund them.
mmm lets hope that my arm is better tomorrow and i can get some more sewing done for me this time!.
I would like to finish off the wallets I cut out the otherday, and make some more tissue covers. Little things like that, to get some stock together.

Right I am off. Happy Sewing everyone.:D
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
