I went to slimming world tonight and three women came up to me separately to say I loved your dress that you wore last week, where did I get it? I beamed and said "Thank you, I made it!" :D It put me on a high when people compliment my dresses. more so tonight as I wore it last week but I didn't stay after the weigh in, My eldest DD was with me and she gushed to them at how wonderful I was as she has 4 maxi dresses that I made for her, it really did made my night!

My payday was Friday and I have spent half of it already :o some on fabric and sewing stuff but rest on food and bills :( shame it can't all go on sewing :rotfl:

It makes all the sewing worth while when someone says how good your stuff is :D

I am behaving and not pushing my hand as it is still a bit sore :(
I decided to make my step-dad a wallet using some fabric with boats on (he loves sailing) but Im now sitting here unpicking it as Ive just sewn the card pockets on the wrong way :(
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

I am noting so much is going on! I have been making some tissue covers and some of the little teabag holder wallets. Using up some of the scraps lurking around the ironing board. This evening I am surfing the net looking at all your links. Some I have visited before, and some I even have bought the pdf files and forgotten about! Oops.
I must go through what I have on the laptop and make sure they are all in one place. I also need to get the printer out of its storage box and be able to print off the patterns. Not to mention to write my various letters that I should have written weeks ago....oops.
Tomorrow I will be back at the sewing machines.
I gave my Mum a set of matching bags, alas I forgot to take photos of them first and she is off to France tomorrow, so too late. Oh well, she has a walking stick bag, a small button up shoulder bag and a wallet. Should keep her happy while away.

    Happy sewing everyone.

oh no, put it away and come back to it when you can concentrate better, dont push yourself too much as you may set yourself back again.

my hand/arm has been fine now for a few days so i think my tendinitis has gone.

ive just been sewing the velcro on the top of a roman blind i am making for my office but our craft/sewing room joins into our sun room and i had the doors open and the biggest bee you have ever seen has flown in and because we have a big glass roof lantern which it must be thinking is open sky, its buzzing around frantic and its to high for me to try and get it out.

i cannot concentrate anymore i was going to try and get the rod tapes on but have had to come out into my office.

I thought one of my twin DD who is 18 now was gonna be the next richard branson she was selling sizzix die cuts on ebay, and earrings too! the local shop was selling her hand made cards and also doing a dog walking service in the village at 11 years old and got so many requests that she handed the jobs out to her friends and took a cut from it!!:rotfl:

now she is head girl and heading to uni in sept to do forensic/criminology and all creative side of her left when she realised more money was to be made working in the pub in tips!!:rotfl:

Woohoo, I've finished all 13 stars :D. Hart, sorry your hand is too sore to cut with yet :(. I am going to start cutting out the setting blocks tomorrow. Now, in theory, these should be a blast to piece together because I can strip piece them to a certain extent. I won't be able to do what crazymom did where I cut 2.5"x wof strips and sew them together then cut into 2.5" blocks as I don't have any fabrics which are wof. So, I shan't do that! I do have a 2.5" acrylic square though which will save me an immense amount of time.
I worked out earlier on that the beige flowers fabric I have would leave me needing 9 sashing blocks. :(. So I have ordered another 2 metres of it :o. Actually, there's a thought, I could use that as wof strips for the setting blocks, could I not? Or would that be a little boring? And would I have enough then to make the sashing?
I'm rambling but I was inspired to go and check ebay. I have actually ordered 3m (don't tell DH although it was less than £3/m.) So I can do the sashing and the backing with this fabric. I can use all of my other little bits and bobs for the print squares then.
I have another dilemma, two of the stars aren't quite right. Looking at them sewn together, I think that they would be better if I whipped the stars out and swapped the outline with the other IYSWIM?
OK, linky time. I'm not ready for the photo of the collage yet as I've not rephotographed every square.

I think the green one is too green (IYSWIM?) and the red one is too pale. I will try to make a decision in the cold light of day.
Here are the other blocks except for the last one as I've not photographed it yet.

Not sure about the colours on this one, I'll have to hide it down the side of the bed!
