Got an absolute blimmin bargain today. 2 large Early's acrylic blankets from the chazza shop for ........................... £1 each :D! They had loads there but I only had £2 on me so bought the 2. First one is in the washing machine now and I'll wash the other later on. I may well go back for more because they will be perfect for wadding but I want to see that it washes ok first. So happy :D. Also bought 2 new blades for my cutter as it's a bit blunt. That'll make the cutting out of squares much easier now.

Wow, well done Kaz, on the blankets. Wish I could find something like that, our CS's have been carp lately lol. I need to get a new blade too, have found my cutting looks more perforated these days than cut.

Have had a mornings worth of sewing up in my craft room. Have been doing some patchwork applique for the fronts of two cushions I am making for gifts.

I have been making more jean bags this afternoon :)

Just the lining to hand sew on the one and blinging it up, and I need to find something to use for straps for the other as the denim is too thick to sew through in places to make a strap from the denim, any suggestions will be most welcome.

It's our next door neighbours DD's birthday today. We didn't have her gift yet and I suggested to DD that she might like a denim bag lined with the skull and cross bones fabric. DD agreed so I set to cutting out the denim and the cotton. I thought I'd found an easier way to do it by just using the leg of the jeans as the body and the flap but then realised that I couldn't get to sew the pocket on which I had made too. Next time, I'll cut it out so that I have flat pieces to work with or not bother adding a lining and just but binding around all the seams. It looks ok though. I've also added a little lip balm a blue mascara  and a lip gloss. They're always making themselves over so at least she has some nice bits to use now.
If it was another family I wouldn't have made the bag but I'm cinfident enough that they won't mind something home made. They know we're on a limited budget and will appreciate the thought.
I'm going back to the charity shop tomorrow to get the rest of the blankets to use as wadding for more quilts. That way, I'm sorted for most gifts this year. It will still cost me for the fabric for the front and backs of the quilts but it will be a nice gift for members of my family. I hope they like them :)

Woohoo, I've finished all 13 stars :D. Hart, sorry your hand is too sore to cut with yet :(. I am going to start cutting out the setting blocks tomorrow. Now, in theory, these should be a blast to piece together because I can strip piece them to a certain extent. I won't be able to do what crazymom did where I cut 2.5"x wof strips and sew them together then cut into 2.5" blocks as I don't have any fabrics which are wof. So, I shan't do that! I do have a 2.5" acrylic square though which will save me an immense amount of time.
I worked out earlier on that the beige flowers fabric I have would leave me needing 9 sashing blocks. :(. So I have ordered another 2 metres of it :o. Actually, there's a thought, I could use that as wof strips for the setting blocks, could I not? Or would that be a little boring? And would I have enough then to make the sashing?
I'm rambling but I was inspired to go and check ebay. I have actually ordered 3m (don't tell DH although it was less than £3/m.) So I can do the sashing and the backing with this fabric. I can use all of my other little bits and bobs for the print squares then.
I have another dilemma, two of the stars aren't quite right. Looking at them sewn together, I think that they would be better if I whipped the stars out and swapped the outline with the other IYSWIM?
OK, linky time. I'm not ready for the photo of the collage yet as I've not rephotographed every square.

I think the green one is too green (IYSWIM?) and the red one is too pale. I will try to make a decision in the cold light of day.
Here are the other blocks except for the last one as I've not photographed it yet.

Not sure about the colours on this one, I'll have to hide it down the side of the bed!
