tina I love your owls they are really sweet!

Mooloo that outfit is adorable :)

thanks for the link ginger I looked at them when I was looking for fabric for my quilt. They do have some bargains!

I have done loads of my bag today I want to finish it tomorrow but I might not have time because I have to go with my grandma to b&q so she can pick paint for her bedroom and the living room. She is rather indecisive so we could be a while :P Not looking forward to decorating two rooms on my own but she will be happy when it is done!

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to report about the sewing group we had this weekend : ) It went well! We all enjoyed it and are having another meeting in June, we are looking to have it every 2 weeks, which is excellent. Must admit I didnt get much sewing done initially as we were talking away, but have to get to know each other ;)

Recommend other people setting up a group in their area. Its great to social sew!

Glad you had a great time natc, I went to a biginners quilting group for the first time on Monday...again I didn't do much in hte way of sewing, just talking about what I could tackle first, and how to go about it.

I was able to take with me a potholder, my first ever attempt at patchworking and quilting:

I went a bit wrong round the edges, but am really pleased with it. It is made from tea towels (Dun£lm M!ll) - two for the front the one for the back. There is enough left to make at least one more, so really looking forward to making a better job of it next time. :D

Might have a go at something else tonight though...we'll see how I feel after watering the garden!!

The pot holder looks great :D very clever use of tea towels too :D

Im glad I couldn't make it to the quilting day in the village in April as I have just found out from a lady who went that they didn't know much and was disapointed, they also didn't tell any one they need you to bring your own sewing machine :(

Yes hmo Im being good :):)

Hi everyone, hope life finds you well.
I have been lurking in the shadowy corner. Our move is getting ever closer, 6 wks Sunday when we leave this lovely sunny island and move into our own house. Have a lot of emotions at the moment it will be a new chapter in our lives but the end of an era as me and the children finally start to settle down. DH is off to Saudi for two years, one heck of a commute lol.
Anyway I started teaching a sewing course last week just showing 7 lovely ladies how to make a bag or doorstop so I have had to blow the cobwebs off my machine as I hadn't sewn since November. I have managed to make a small bag and a Kindle sleeve for my daughter so she is a happy customer. They are easily pleased.

Best wishes to all, I will keep lurking.
