With DS son back to school yesterday I cleared out the hotpress which was a to do job for months!! and boy! I was so glad I did!!! there was always a black bag at the very back that I couldnt reach, this time I got a stool and got the bag out to see what was in it and I nearly passed out to see what what inside it!!!.. fabrics!!! there was beautiful ginger bread ones and other plaid type of fabric, i remember now buying it maybe over 9 years ago!!I am determined to lose weight!:kisses3:

Oh irishgirl, you are so clever! Lovely cushions.
I went and bought some iron on interfacing today and that is ironed on and setting now (it said somewhere online to leave it to set for a good long while after attaching). That's fine really because it gives me a good long time to get on and do some much needed housework after my breakfast. I already have the iron out so will do some ironing first and then get the washing off the line as it went out on Monday nightoops!
When I've finished the housework, I'll feel no guilt at sitting down to the machine with a cuppa and cracking on with the skirt.
Think I have sorted the issues with length. If it's too short, I'm going to buy some organza or voile in a contrasting colour to make the frill with.
Got into town too early this morning so I went to the bank (which was shut grr!) and meandered back past a charity shop. Had a mooch around and saw a cushion/ 2 curtains set in a lilac voile. 60"x60" for £3.99. I got all excited and then thought I'd better step away from the fabric as I do't have satin that colour and DH would kill me as I haven't even finished the first one yet!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -

I love your bag
when I use the magnetic fasteners I iron a small square of interfacint on the wrong side of the fabric then I make the cuts to poke clasp through, it hold it better and no fear of ripping the fabric when you open the bag

I tend to put the edge of a fingernail in between the clasp bits and open it that way.
If only I had nailsThese new vitamins from sainsburys though are making my nails grow really fast! I just need to stop biting them and I am sorted

quick question please ladies, i'm making a patchwork quilt for my baby. so he can lay on it and kick his legs , use in cot etc . i've previoucly made a patchwork throw and used 2 oz wadding, but i feel this is a bit thin for a baby one.
which wadding would be better 4 or 6 oz, i apperciate 6 is gonna be thicker, but is it harder to work with, would it be too thick would a 4 be better ?
the room where baby is most likely to use it has a carpet floor and a nice thick rug, instead of a hard wood floor, where definatly thick the quilt the better.0 -
You surely don't mean you tell your DH the truth when you buy fabric, do you?
, I have nowhere to hide stuff at present.

Now I have worked out how to cut straight edges using my mat and cutter, I think life will be easier as I can then just whip a strip off (Yeah, it really is that easy Kaz  :rotfl:).irishgirl62 wrote: »I love the star quilting hart44... i have been meaning to do that quilt along for ages I just need to get a few more contrasting fabrics, there is just not enough hours in the day for me, I am glad I work nights so the day is all mine free from kids and more play time for me :j. Are you sure we can't tempt you to quilt along? Go on. In fact, as you're irshgirl, treat yourself to a Father Ted's housekeeper style "Oh go on, go on, go on. Go on!"
