I have been very "naughty" and went to a charity shop this morning, and spent a small fortune on some boxes to store my bits and pieces in, and some curtaining fabrics, and a few brooches. All for my sewing plans of course.!!
I even picked up a childs toy pattern for 50p. I hope it has all the bits in it, I couldnt exactly look.
I would have bought more, but they only take cash! So I was limited to £20! I even bought a handbag (Mad when I make them), but I liked the closure on it, and thought I could re use it.
Only snag is that I have only got around 45 mintues left to sew, before I have to go out again!.

Perhaps I should be making a few more. I certainly have a few smaller bits and pieces lurking to use.
I had a good break, but overdid the walking, and thats done me in a bit. I have my pampa day tomorrow. Yipee.

The wallets are ideal for using up biggish scraps of fabric and as I hate throwing any of it I try to find something to make :D I am sewing all the scraps together at the moment, I have tons of the stuff :rotfl:

I think you and I are more alike then I care to admit!:D
I just want to be in my sewing room more than I can, and my arm slows me down when I finally can!.

Just back from a harrowing afternoon, and have guiltily bought a bottle of already chilled white wine from the petrol station.! The first glass is poured. We have lost the fight to keep the grandsons and I think I can be excused this today.
I will sort out some of my bits for sewing later. or tomorrow. :o

Well I shouldnt have hijacked about my private life really, sorry. I do have a thread, its just that I was on here with the sewing. Infact I am watching this one more then I do my own these days.
I have some wonderful fabrics and I will bury myself into the sewing when ever my daughter doesnt need me of course. I spoke with Business links today, and put the start up of plans on hold really as I just couldnt think quite straight. Jobcentre Plus were supposed to be sending me an appointment but I am still waiting 3 weeks on. nothing unusual I suppose.
When I get my act together I need to brush up on how to sort out the homepage and then how to set out a "stall" on some of the other websites. Or even get myown website. But it seems all a bit too serious, and then I will really have to work hard. Its ok having a hobby and thinking maybe I can do this, but actually doing it is another one.
But I will need to focus on something other then the sad side of life.!

although I have been sewing for many years, i decided to brush up some skills, and to also see about the way people teach some sewing skills so I have signed up for this site.http://www.sympoz.com/class/Sewing-Studio-Fashion-Fitting-Home-Decor-More/19.html# I saw the offer on Burdastyles website which I joined ages ago and forgot all about really until someone on here recommended thier free patterns. not sure if anyone is interested.?

Edit. Just noticed that if you are interested I have a link that will give you an offer at $29.99 dollars, and also if I did get recommendations I may be refunded. Although when I posted this link that was not the reason I posted it. ! But half price offers maybe worth taking.

Hi Keiss :D I don't usually wash my fabric before making bags but I do iron it :) a lot of the time I use duvet covers or sheets.
I have this waterproof fabric I line my make-up bags with http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RETRO-BIRDS-Wipe-Clean-Waterproof-PVC-Textile-Fabric-FQ-/350446416606?pt=UK_Crafts_Fabric_Textiles_SM&hash=item51983bf2de

It is very easy to sew with (I don't have a special teflon foot for my machine)

This seller has loads of designs :D

I have used shower curtains too and no probs :)

I have just bought half a metre of this fabric whilst on holiday in dorset. Haven't clue what I'm doing with it but had to have it. My husband has suggested I make myself a new toilet bag, one that rolls up and has a couple of zipped compartments and can hang up. One problem haven't a clue how to do this and don't have a pattern.

If anyone can point me in the direction of a pattern or on line tutorial I would be extremely grateful.

On another note, I now have all my material to start my quilt. Before I went away (have been out of contact for nearly a month) someone was talking about doing a quilt along. If anyone knows who this was again I would be grateful.
